Oct. 27, 2054 -- It was a tragedy worthy of Shakespeare. A man of strength, a man of courage, a man of God risked his life and his presidency to protect his nation and the values for which it stood. And the nation, blinded by its worship of tolerance, led astray by a barrage of hate, looked instead to a shyster and a weakling for guidance.
George W. Bush was the finest president of the 21st century. He took office in the crucial 2000 election -- the election marking the beginning of the end for American representative democracy. Immediately denounced as a conservative radical and an unelected dynastic pawn, Bush stepped into a situation fraught with peril. A recession had begun after the illusory prosperity of the 1990s Internet bubble unexpectedly burst. A decade of defense and intelligence slashing had sliced national security to the bone. The administration of Bill Clinton, marked by a tendency toward tolerating immorality and bashing traditionalism, had left America profoundly vulnerable.

Love this, totally agree with the foreshadwing.
And I think the author is 19 years old. There is hope for our future!
It has one part wrong.............forgot to write into history his successful second term!
i have said for some time now that the big fear that drives the Dims now is exactly this...that GW one day will be credited in history for his grand vision and the beginning of the restructure of a successful middle east. Something no man has ever attempted to do with conviction.
This column gave me the chills, it ws so accurate.

That's how we have seen this as well. George W. Bush will go down as one of the greatest Presidents of all time. He will and has outshone all the others.
You were wrong on one point...where Bush is unceremoniously throw out of office. No way. No how. Bush/Cheney 2004
Outstanding article!
Had this same thought recently. I think that GWB has become the new standard for the presidency. Even the future dims will, while never admitting it nor achieving anything even close, try to model themselves on it. For awhile everyone wanted to be an FDR. Then a Kennedy (although I have never understood why anyone would want to emulate a Kennedy).
Um, duh.
Bush has been president for all but 20 days of the 21st century. And, regardless what you think of Clinton, I don't think 20 days count for much. So...
Of course he's the "greatest president of the 21st century" as, really, he's THE ONLY president of the 21st century.
So, in addition to being the "greatest president of the 21st century" he's also the "worst president of the 21st century", the "tallest president of the 21st century", the "shortest president of the 21st century", etc...
"i have said for some time now that the big fear that drives the Dims now is exactly this...that GW one day will be credited in history for his grand vision and the beginning of the restructure of a successful middle east. "
My sentiments exactly.
Picky, Picky, Picky!
Details, details.
Um, duh....bye, bye
(although I have never understood why anyone would want to emulate a Kennedy).
Me neither.
Since you were coming from 2055 President Bush was not the only pres, in the 20'th cen. unless it takes 50 yrs. to declare a winner of '04.....
Heck, the only thing Shapiro "predicts" is more big government.
That's a certainty no matter WHO is elected.
Cripes, it's not as if Dubya ever bothered to use his veto over congressional spending.
I'm just sorry that I bothered to read this adolescent tripe.
"I'm just sorry that I bothered to read this adolescent tripe."
I guess you don't read much at all nowadays, since most everything could be categorized as that coming out of the MSM....
