I was certain this had to be a mistake and that Republicans were over sampled, but the same sample shows Kerry leading 49-44 over Bush, so that is not the case. Wow! I never thought I'd see Northup win in a landslide, but it looks like things are heading in that direction.

What do you find so amazing about a Republican on her way to her 5th congressional term? And what is so encouraging about Kerry leading Bush by 5 points in Kentucky?

You must not follow congressional elections very closely or read things before you post responses.

I didn't read the poll, but I think that he's saying that in Louisville, Kerry is beating Bush, not in the state.

I gathered that, but it's Kentucky. This elitist billionaire internationalist shouldn't be beating Bush anywhere in the state.
The fact that he is just goes to show what a poor campaign the Bush team has run.

The Courier-Journal is a restricted publication for this site -- I cannot post even an excerpt of the article, only a link.

Seriously, I am in Louisville, Northup is cleaning up better than ever, I have a large sign of hers on my lawn, my neighborhood is chock full of her and Bushs campaign signs, and the numbers of Kerry leading are way off that much I know!!

Thanks for the inside scoop!

It's got to be in Nethercutt's congressional district, that's all.

Louisville tends to be a bit more liberal than the rest of the state. No shock that Kerry is up there.
The Northup margin is great! She deserves it after working so hard.
Where else do you find a "top-targeted" Republican getting the endorsement of the state's largest newspaper, the state's largest African-American newspaper, and from her former opponent who barely lost (Chris Gorman, former KY AG, lost to her in '98)? A 10 point or greater victory this year will solidify Northup. The Democrats have nothing left to throw at her, save Mayor Jerry Abramson . . . who won't run.
