1 Peter 5: 6-10
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

When praying for our President and the election, might I suggest prayer for our country and against the terrorist plots which are certainly in the works.

Heavenly Father,

Your word says "He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart"
Father, our nation is about to make a decision between good and evil, right and wrong. "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... to those who are wise in their own eyes"
They make laws that allow the killing of babies up to 9 months and they protect the criminal. They want to take the blessing of marriage You gave us and preset it. They call a man who wants to protect our nation, who calls You his God and pursues evil men, wrong and evil. "He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, Both of them alike are an abomination to the Lord"

Your word says "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!"
Lord, we are asking, seeking and knocking. We ask for bread and not a serpent. We ask that you show favor to Your people and give us George W. Bush, again as president for the next 4 years. We pray he win this election by such a large margin that any attempt to fight the win would be laughed at.

Lord, we also ask for a great revival in this nation. One that would effect the very fiber of this nation. Lord satan has blinded the eyes of many. We ask that You lift the veil and give them a heart of flesh, so they would hear Your truth and know that You are the one true God.
"Restore us, O God of host; Cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved"


God, we pray for the fight we face with the terrorist. We especially lift up Iraq. Lord, Your name is being praised in that country, freely. Lord, help us to see that country as a place of hope. "Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Protect our troops and coalition partners, as well as innocent people trying to rebuild a country. We pray Your words for these people and there work to be done:
"Through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us. For I will not trust in my bow, Nor shall my sword save me. But You have saved us from our enemies. And have put to shame those who hated us" "Offer to God thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High. Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me." Amen!
