YET ANOTHER SERVICEMAN REFUTES THE TIMES ACCOUNT [10/26 05:23 PM]
From yet another Kerry Spot reader with a ".mil" e-mail address:
You are correct in your bottom line conclusion. Here is a second follow up. I was serving as a [identifying information removed by the Kerry Spot] staff member during the time in question. The Commander on the site had complete real time intelligence on what to expect and possibly find at the Al-QaQaa depot. The ordinance in question was not found when teams were sent in to inspect and secure the area. When this information was relayed, Operational plans were adjusted and the unit moved forward. Had the ordinance in question been discovered, a security team would have been left in place.
It would be interesting to know if this information was provided to the Senate Intelligence Committee and Dear John just didn't get the memo.
Look,NBC broke the LIE story last night.ABC just may join in on the pile-on,as they went after cBS over RATHERGATE.
Keep on wearing your jammies and help the rest of us get the word out. :-)
I've heard this idea before, and it sounds appealing. But what is forgotten is that many people are voting right now, either early voting or absentee ballot, and this strategry writes these people off. Also, there never was an effective response on Tora Bora, even though Tommy Franks wrote an op ed defending his decisions on how to go after Bin Laden then-----Franks op ed was just lost and never reported by the media. Talk radio and Fox News are a help, but a good 40% of the population doesn't listen to them or get its news from the internet. Are we just going to write that group off?
Click on the link above, go to the bottom of Page 5, Top of Page 6. The IAEA planned to move the HMX from Al QaQaa sometime in late 2002-early 2003. I just don't have the time to continue the research to determine if/when it was moved ...
I am not worried about this story. It is destructing and it is hurting Kerry / the left more than Bush. Once again the fact that the major media is in bed with Kerry is showing. Another good thing about this story is that it was a pretty weak October surprise to begin with. Is that the best they can do? Recycle a year old baseless story that couldnt even stand for 3 hours? I believe this story is showing Iraq was a danger. They were moving/hiding weapons before we arrived. What else did they move / hide? WMD?

WHAT THE IAEA DID
NROTC ^ | October 26, 2004 | Mark R. Levin
There is great power and good in refuting false evidence. Bush needs to be an educator of the people like RWR.
Heck, it's easier if I convert the relevant PDF text to HTML:

17. Two hundred fifty-five tons of high explosive of the HMX type are stored under IAEA seal in six bunkers at the Al Qa Qaa site. As a typical dual-use material, HMX is listed in annex 3 to the plan. The present storage conditions

of HMX at Al Qa Qaa are inconvenient for monitoring and cause some safety concerns. IAEA has requested that the Iraqi side consolidate the HMX in a safer and more convenient place to facilitate sealing and regular monitoring. The IAEA-20 team evaluated two large bunkers in the Muthanna complex which Iraq had proposed as an alternative storage location. With minor modifications to improve security, these bunkers represent a considerable improvement over the current storage conditions at Al Qa Qaa. The transfer of the HMX is expected to take place during IAEA-22.

A UN chemical team traveled south of Baghdad to inspect the Al-Qaqaa missile complex. A missile team inspected the facility on Tuesday.
Great find, oeb.
It says that the Iraqis were looking for a location better suited for the explosive.
The original NYT article said that prior to the invasion they also COMPLAINED that the Iraqis had relocated quantities of the explosive...apparently without IAEA approval.
reporter Davey just confirms what we no,,no seals, no explosives, no trucks, roads a mess.
Exactly. They didn't even pretend to research the story properly with military sources, as far as I can see. They just assumed, as CBS did with the TANG garbage, that they had a great 'gotcha' against Bush and operated in a way to ensure that they WOULD NOT encounter any conflicting information before running the story. Why would they want to risk that military sources could tell them the IAEA and their secret 'source' were full of it??? Much better for the MSM to push the poorly researched story out there.... and they claim that they have lofty standards that the blogs and talk radio wouldn't comprehend! Love the irony of that.....
The President seems unable to become angry before the public. If so, that could be a big, big, mistake. I thought he was an older brother....
I'm sure Bush has a reason that he does not respond right away. I bet it is because the Rats are trying to get him in a defense mode (where they throw out charges and he has to defend) instead of staying on his message. This is all strategy. It is easy for us to say he should come out with a defense right away, but that may be exactly what the Rats want him to do to get off message and show that he sustained a political hit from their BS.
I'd be thrilled if Bush showed HALF the enthusiasm and energy over this story that Rush showed today.
