WASHINGTON, D.C. -- University of Minnesota Duluth Professor James Fetzer, a Kennedy assassination theorist, called on Congress Monday to investigate the death of Sen. Paul Wellstone, who Fetzer believes was the target of a White House plot.
Fetzer, a McKnight professor of philosophy, told a group of journalists and supporters at the National Press Club that the official government probe into the Wellstone plane crash on Oct. 25, 2002, whitewashed a broad Republican murder conspiracy, a charge he has made before.
"Something very wrong has happened in this case," he said.
Fetzer's assassination theory, now the subject of a book he co-wrote with a Northern Arizona University professor, Four Arrows, has been widely dismissed by government officials. The book is called "American Assassination: The Strange Death of Senator Paul Wellstone."
Given the Republican Party's control of Congress, Fetzer acknowledged that his request "has more symbolic than practical significance."

Err, umm, excuse me, but the occupant of the White House
when that plane crashed was Bill Clinton.
It was sort of like the New Year's Eve Party on the Poseidon Adventure, with the same giddy joy, confetti, singing, and laughter - until the boat started to turn over.
Wellstone was a socialist but he did not misrepresent himself. I believe he was one of the old-time democrats who actually beleived in this stuff and cared about people. I think he would have been appalled at Kerry's lies and he would certainly have been appalled at the way his funeral was handled. I don't blame his sons for that. I think they were used and abused by the DNC.
If anyone murdered Wellstone, it was Clinton.

Everyone knows that Wellstone was killed by the CIA on instructions from Dick Cheney following a secret meeting held at an undisclosed location.
According to memos obtained by the New York Times and CBS those at the meeting included. Dick Cheney, Norm Coleman, Karl Rove, people from the Weather Channel and the BPA (Bad Pilots Association) and well known GOP mole, Howard Dean.
What an idiot.

No, that isn't what I meant. Bad coincidence. A talk show host in Boston, Howie Carr, just mentioned the story in today's Star-Tribune, as part of the media ganging up on Bush.
This is what happened. GW secretly put his body double (his dad who colors out the gray in his hair to play the part)...into his place, and then drove a Ford Bronco up to Minnisota. There he puchased a shoulder-launched surface to air missile from Jesse Ventura, and then hid quietly in the woods. When Wellstone flew over...he fired the missile with data provided by Condi.
