IQ Test: Bush outshines Kerry CHIDANAND RAJGHATTA
TIMES NEWS NETWORK[ MONDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2004 04:16:38 PM ] Washington: President Bush is not a bozo; in fact, he may be a near-brainiac.
An American researcher has challenged popular belief and water cooler jokes about Bush's cerebral limitations by arguing - on the basis of available records - that he is not only smart but has a higher IQ than his rival John Kerry.
Based on various academic and military school records including his SAT score (1206), conservative columnist Steve Sailer has calculated that Bush's IQ is between 125 and 130.
That would put him in the "very superior intelligence" category and in the 95th percentile, which means only one out of 20 people would score higher.
In comparison, similar (but not same) records and tests suggest John Kerry's IQ is only around 120, says Sailer in a commentary on the conservative blog www.vdare.com.
Sailer looked at school records and tests both men took when there were enrolling into the US military at age 22 and extrapolated the results to arrive his conclusion.

Anyone listen to Glenn Beck today? He was talking about how the rats jump on W. for saying "nuculer" or "moo-lahs" he played clip of Kerry`s "jenjis khan" along with new ones, after his goose hunt he talked about not going hunting with "ak-47s" or "uzshis" what the hell is an "uzshi"? he also talked about looking out over a "chasm" as in "CHAT" not "chasm" as in "Kasm" why does private Benjamin get away with his moronic speech when the clearly more intelligent dubya gets reamed? Incidentally the I.Q. score really means nothing, I have them both beat(143) and only got a 1000 on my SAT
LOL, I got into college on the basis of my PSAT. Never took SAT.
Does that mean I should run for president?
George Bush and Yale Rugby [Soccer-player Kerry nicknamed "the Diddler"]
According to classmates, Kerry preferred dribbling around defenders, rather than using passes to advance the ball. His school team's Scottish manager would urge him not to "diddle with the ball." Apparently, this exhortation stuck as a nickname, "the Diddler.
I did, about 40 years ago. It convinced me not to accept the offer to join.
I suspect that the average IQ of those who survive FR is higher than the average IQ of those who attend Mensa social events (been there, done that, ain't giving up my membership)
"While I have great respect for the man, and do believe he's quite intelligent, it's his speaking skills. They suck".
I have an IQ of 158, and I can understand EVERYTHING that President Bush says. I have NOT been able to understand many statements made by lurch however. Could be lurch is the "hollow man", because his words ring hollow!
LLS
And the answer is: a horse's ass was once a form of measurement! So you see why we can use Kerry as a yardstick for the fate of all liberals...............
124--like Ted Bundy.
Congratulations. You're brilliant. (BFHD)
Unfortunately, you couldn't have scored higher than 160 on a PSAT, in which scores range from 20-80. Even if you are a recent test taker, when PSAT has three sections, you couldn't score higher than 240. Even if you understand that the PSAT scores are scaled down by a factor of ten, you couldn't have score 121.2, as there are no fractional scores. (Oops! So much for the "brilliant" comment...)
I'll bet your dog beats sKerry in looks and character too.<<
Hands down! Wish I knew how to post pictures, you could see for yourself! She also protects my home with vigilance.
Median = Half above, half below. Does the SAT give any data on what percent of scores were at 1500 in 1964 vs 2004 or the median at Yale in 1964 vs 2004? I'd be willing to bet it's changed quite a bit.
I'm glad near-field eyesight isn't a measure of IQ.
Bottom line: If the tunnels, that are in the way of a bunch of rocket boosters, are too narrow, I have faith that the tunnels will get wider a lot sooner than the boosters would get narrow. Either that, or they would ship them in pieces.
That certainly contributed, but I think the basic reason for the reputation is that he's a Republican, and further that his positions don't make sense in their delusiional world.
Eisenhower, Reagan, and Bush were all put down for not being geniuses and I believe history will show they were all good Presidents. Carter was a superior intellect, as was Nixon, and Clinton. If anything too much intelligence seems to work against success.
Kerry's horse binges and purges.
Me, too! I picked Bundy. Maybe we're onto something.
I reduced and compressed it for the dialup FReepers.
Because too many dimwits associate intelligence with glibness. But there are mountains of evidence which indicate that the two are not necessarily mutual. Isn't it, in fact, part of the stereotype of the "geek" that this person is bumbling and inarticulate? Yet folks don't call geeks stupid, do they. Nope, they know better.
Recently I engaged in a conversation with a 30-ish woman whose bust size was obviously larger than her IQ. She's voting for Kerry because "Bush is stupid!" But when I challenged her on her claim, she was unable to defend her point. At all. All she could do was repeat the mantra.
I discovered many years ago this truism: the more ignorant a person is, the more tenaciously he clings to his beliefs. This young woman proves it absolutely.
While there is some general connection, the answer you are likely looking for is not technically correct.
