This is truly unbelievable. Reminds me of Germany in the 30's.

What I don't get about this ballot (besides the obvious number irregularity)...why is Bush/Cheney listed last????

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm here in Greene Co. (Ohio) and will keep an eye open. I'm not saying anything is fishy here but forewarned is forearmed.

Any Freepers there should haul their ballots back to the voting officials and complain loudly enough for nearby lawyers to hear it. Let's hope the advance publicity spurs officials to do something.

This is unbelievable.....it looks photoshopped. Notice the 1 missing in front of the 4 & 2. I'm not an expert, but this photo looks doctored.

From Newsmax.com:

Dems Register al-Qaida Terrorists in Ohio Vote Drive

Democratic Party activist groups in Ohio have registered at least two known terrorists involved in a plot to blow up a shopping center in a bid to get out the vote for John Kerry.

Nuradin Abdi - a Somali immigrant and admitted al-Qaida member who was indicted earlier this year as part of a conspiracy to blow up the Columbus Mall - was registered to vote by the civil rights group ACORN, according to the Columbus Dispatch.

Story Continues Below

ACORN has spearheaded an aggressive Democratic Party vote drive in the battleground states.

Iyman Faris, another new Ohio voter added to the rolls by Democrats, is currently serving a 20-year jail sentence for his role in surveilling potential al-Qaida targets - including the Brooklyn Bridge, the Dispatch said.

According to the Ohio News Now TV network, Abdi's name was added to the rolls by ACORN employee Kevin Eugene Dooley, as part of the group's Project Vote operation.

Dooley was indicted earlier this year on two felony election offenses - false election registration and submitting false election signatures to the Ohio Board of Elections.

"As far as board of elections is concerned, Abdi is a registered voter," Ohio board of elections director Matt Damschroeder told ONN.

Only after Abdi's case was exposed did Ohio officials strike his name from the voting rolls, due to his status as an illegal alien.

Faris became a naturalized citizen in 1999 but is not eligible to vote because he's an incarcerated felon.

Isn't this the same sort of thing they complained about in Florida in 2000? Need to take it to court and force them to change because looking at that ballot a dummy can't miss getting a vote for Kerry because his number is across from the name. The others aren't even close. I'm trying to figure what kind of order they used. I'd say it's another reason why they need to standardize voting procedures. Ballots like these are a disgrace.

In an earlier thread, I believe the elections official resigned. It was from this morning somewhere.

I'll be working in Cuyahoga County next week - walking neighborhoods and shuttling voters. I'll let the lawyers fight ballot design.

I don't know how things work in Ohio, but here in Missouri, whwen you go into the polling place, you slide your ballot in a sleeve that the butterfuly ballot opens on top of. Slot '4' when the ballot is in the sleeve may well be slot '14' on the actual ballot.

Cuyahoga county always has strange ballots. In 2000 they had a "butterfly" ballot very similar to the ones in Florida. No one complained. If you are not smart enough to follow the arrows then perhaps it is best if your vote does not count.

The problem is when you are voting absentee as in the case you have identified. Without having the ballot inserted into one of the punching devices there are no arrows to follow and definitely in this case properly indicating Bush/Cheney could be confusing.

The order of the candidates should be shuffled from precinct to precinct.

From Powerline yesterday:

Preacher Ted? Really. No kidding.

This morning Ted Kennedy, of all people, preached a sermon at the Airy Church of God in Christ in Philadelphia in which, according to the Associated Press, he "urged the congregation to vote for Kerry." Here is an AP photo of the congregation:

Is it legal to hold political rallies in churches? Not if the church wants to maintain its tax-exempt status. But somehow the rules don't apply when the preacher is a Democrat. All those worries about how dangerous it is to mingle religion and politics don't apply, either.

I watched some guy apparently re-vote in CC in 2000 -- then again, the poll worker may have just let someone else sign the wrong line in the registry to begin with, giving the appearance that John Doe was voting twice. Then, in 2002, I had mysteriously dropped from the voter list. They let me cast a (regular, non-provisional) ballot anyway. This may not be fraud; it may just be the incompetence of the people who work here.

Are third-party candidates listed as merely "Other-party Candidates"? "Constitutional" and "Libertarian" as not named?

This ballot appears bogus, which would make it all the more incredible if it proves to be authentic.

I noticed one troubling thing about this county (went to website to see sample ballots) ... they don't have the punch area of the card ...

however, I noticed if you click on different precincts around the county you'll noticed that some have the order of the candidates different (that is strange and suspect)

for example

http://boe.cuyahogacounty.us/boe/ballots/PDF/ECLE04D.pdf

http://boe.cuyahogacounty.us/boe/ballots/PDF/BAYV03E.pdf

http://boe.cuyahogacounty.us/boe/ballots/PDF/CLEVE01M.pdf

the county and the state should have the same ballot order?? shouldn't they ...

I believe this ballot was indeed photoshopped or altered. Also I believe this may be the reason the election supervisor in this county resigned this morning. The ballot may be real, but the altering was probably done after it was approved, but before it was printed. The question is: 'Who did it?'. It would not be too hard to somehow connect her to this, at this point in time? That being said, I hope they find out who did this.
