John F. Kerry's Worst Nightmare

The growing conventional wisdom (in military circles) is that Kerry GOT a discharge but it was other than honorable. He subsequently got Clinton to sign the fix in 2001.

One week before the most important election of our young century, I offer the following with thanks for indulging me this one vanity post to the News/Activism forum.

Senator John Forbes Kerry’s Worst Nightmare

If you are wondering why Senator John F. Kerry is ducking the press these days, I believe that I know why. There is one question that he so cowardly fears, that he avoids press interviews on the chance that some renegade member of the media might pose it. The question Kerry dreads is quite simple.

Kerry’s Nightmare question.
“Did you, John F. Kerry, ever receive a discharge, or separation, that was not honorable, even if it was later upgraded to honorable?”

Nightmare, indeed.
Because (assuming the discharge disgrace allegations are correct) there is absolutely no way for Kerry to spin a response that would change the fact that he had led all to believe that his military service was unquestionably honorable. Kerry’s deceit of implied honorable service would be unforgivable in many, many Democrat’s minds.

Try it yourself.
Consider a Kerry mea culpa followed by…
-“I didn’t think it was important”, or
-“It only matters that I was given an Honorable Discharge, not when it was awarded”, or
-“A board of officers concluded that I was eligible for reinstatement of the HD.”

Sorry, but the (alleged at this point) false pretense of Kerry’s service being completely honorable can’t be snaked around by arguing off the point. The feeling of betrayal that Kerry’s “war hero” true believers would feel, after learning of service termination in disgrace, would be epidemic

Look at it this way.
If a job applicant lied to you by omitting information on arrests and convictions, would you want that person working for you? Of course not. Would you want that person to have a security clearance? Nope. Would you want that person to represent the United States in diplomatic matters? Not that, either? Would you trust that person to be Commander-in-Chief of the most powerful military in the world? I didn’t think so. Just for fun, let’s take it one farther. Would you want that person dating your insane, but extremely rich, elderly Aunt Moonbat? Ewww.

Hiding behind Dan Rather’s skirts wouldn’t help him on this one.
Now, the elusive Mr. Kerry has been able to land on his feet after many of his most horrific lies have been exposed. He survived (politically) following the revelation that he was nowhere near Cambodia in December 1968. He suffered no consequences for his “whopper” about claiming to run the Boston Marathon. The reason he faired so well can be ascribed to selective story spiking from the mainstream media. Dan Rather and his colleagues just won’t bring them up, will they? However…if it turns out that Mr. Kerry wasn’t forthcoming about military judicial proceedings against him, then even the selectively indignant MSM wouldn’t be able to bottle that one up. They simply couldn’t. Just as with the Rathergate forgeries, some stories are just too big to be ignored; and, this would be the most compelling of them.

But wait, there’s more!
The question above is, in my estimation, Kerry’s biggest nightmare. And it naturally leads to some intriguing follow-up interrogatories. Mr. Kerry…
-Were you ever separated involuntarily?
-Did you ever lose your security clearance?
-Did you ever receive a letter of reprimand?
-Did you ever receive a reduction in rank?
-Did you ever face one or more courts martial? (What were the charges? What was (were) the verdict(s)?)
-Did you ever face an Admiral’s Mast? (What were the charges? What was the outcome?)
- Were you ever relieved of any medals and/or citations?
- Were you ever relieved of command or duty?
-Can you, the reader, think of others?

Discharge? Discharge? (I hope) I don’t gotta show you no stinkin’ discharge.
There is no amount of spin, nuance, Dan Ratheresque memo forgings, or DNC mendacity that could assuage the shame and stigma of a non-honorable discharge, or any kind of involuntary separation. Especially for a self-promoting “war hero”. So, as I see it, Kerry’s fear is that at some point before the election, (this week) some sneaky member of the vast rightwing conspiracy, or some undisciplined member of the press, will ask the question from Kerry’s Nightmares:

“Did you, John F. Kerry, ever receive a discharge, or separation, that was not honorable, even if it was later upgraded to honorable?”

This simple question, with the cameras rolling, has the potential to bring the counterfeit Kerry campaign tumbling down faster than an uncoordinated snob on a snowboard.

Thanks for indulging me this one vanity post.

I agree. That's a question I'm sure he's afraid of getting and I also know he will never be asked for precisely that reason.

He will avoid unscripted interviews with any non-left leaning news organizations. The MSM will never pull the rug out from under their poodle.

True enough. However it's the sort of question that can be asked (rhetorically) by talk show personalities and, the question can also be asked of Kerry representatives and handlers. I think that a "no response" could be somewhat damning.

This is just about the best "blogger buzz" that we have going for us, currently.

This would explain why we are seeing the absolute melt down from the talking head liberals every time the SBV and POW's are mentioned

They may have opened a big ole can of worms

Because if this is true .... Kerry should have been ever elected Senator

The Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3, states, "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President ... having previously taken an oath . to support the Constitution of the United States, [who has] engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."

Ambrose Bierce once observed, “The hardest tumble a man can make is to fall over his own bluff.” John Kerry’s fall is sure to rival Humpty Dumpty.

The question to be asked is whether the fall will occur in the next eight days.

The problem is, he'll never be asked this question.

Yes, and he'll never sign his Form 180 showing exactly what wounds he received to deserve 3 purple hearts without spending one day in a hospital.

And yet CBS, for instance, was determined to hang Bush with a fake memo while they would never ask their man Kerry any questions about his military service. The Left is so desperate they'll let anything with a "D" beside its' name get a free ride....

Bill O'Reilly is doing a phantom (stupid) interview with skerry this week. skerry won't be there but O'Reilly has asked for potential questions to ask. I emailed O'Reilly the "question" of the campaign.

The kerry campaign will answer that question the same way they answer any question about his shameful past...

Senator kerry is a decorated combat veteran who served his country honorably and has spent entirely too much of this campaign suffering the contemptible innuendo of questions just like this one. We're sick of it because it's sickening, just more Republican politics of personal destruction. If you want to know what Senator kerry's service record is, just go to the campaign website. It's all there. Next question.

If kerry were asked directly, he'd stonewall in much the same way, with a show of indignation worthy of Sarah Bernhardt. But the last thing he or anybody in his campaign will do is answer the question with a simple yes or no. He has a lot less to lose if he just evades the question in this way, pretending that he is being hectored with the same old "personal attack" questions.

The MSM know that the discharge is coming--they've known it since Kerry was nominated---that is why Mapes and Rather were given the task of beating the GOP to the punch---prove that Bush served dishonorably first---so that when Nov 2nd came around there would be moral equivalence--"They are both equally guilty so it doesn't matter". This is why Rather went so far out on a limb for Kerry. Even when it was obvious he had fake evidence.

The Guard accusations against Bush were PREMEDITATED and sanctioned as strategy===in the works for months to counter the dishonorable that Kerry got. The MSM has known that it is beyond their ability to prevent Kerry's record from coming out so they planned the Rather stuff to negate the fallout when millions of average Joe Americans learn that the dem candidate was drummed out of the service. It aint gonna sit well.
