Why Don't Republicans Fight Back? (vanity)
Polls | 10/23/04

Posted on 10/24/2004 5:36:00 AM PDT by pabianice

With nine days to go before the election, Bush and Kerry are tied in FL, OH, WI, NM, and NH (forget the slight lead overall; it's meaningless). Dem voter fraud is estimated to have registered several hundred thousand non-existant people in swing states. Kerry has hit Bush with every dirty trick and false advertisement you can name. Liberal millions have been used to show Bush morphing into Hitler. A British newspaper is calling for Bush's assassination. Bush's and Cheney's families have been trashed in execrable episodes. A "reporter" goes certifiably insane on the air, screeching incoherently at John O'Neill and is net with voter indifference.

In response, Bush has ... held his tongue and replied with sober, measured ads.

From 1970 to 1985, Kerry met with most of the US' enemies and gave them aid and comfort. There are literally thousands of pictures and tens of thousands of feet of film of him kissing Ortega's ass, glad-handing Asia's Communist butchers, and trashing his own Navy fatigues.

Bush has used exactly zero of this in his campaign. Why?

Does Bush really want to win? Is he going to go on the offensive this week, or are we going to see Kerry lie his way to a win? I'd really like a confincing argument of why Bush's campaign seems so defenseless.

My god someone needs a chill pill......clearly you are no friend to fact or reason, indeed I hardly think the "wolf" ad was Bush remaining warm and fuzzy.

Furthermore your polls are outdated, Bush is ahead in most of the states you claim he is not.

What else? Oh yes, I understand your tension but please stop the vanities.

Because it would seem that Republicans seem to have class and dignity, traits that while very nice, seem to not be attributes one needs in a full-out brawl, which this is. 41 had the same problem...

I think that the Bush team believe that their best campaigners this year are the DNC and the KERRY campaign. In many ways that is turning out to be true, but it would seem that some more hard core truthful attacks by the RNC would be appropriate right now, and they may yet still come, remember that the closer you get to 11/2 the more deadly the reports should be since that is more likely to stay with people once they enter the booth.

He's the POTUS, so others, like us, do that for him.

I agree, O'Donnell does need a net!

Read the Mark Steyn column posted on FR re: Karl Rove. Rove's strategy is to destroy an opponent's strengths. Once that is done, there is nothing left. Each item you've identified is an acknowledged Kerry weakness, i.e. something Kerry can't campaign on to win.

Kerry's alleged strengths are his veteran experience, his nuanced leadership skills, and his fiscal responsibility. To everyone but the lunatic left, these strengths have been transformed: traitor, flip-flopper, and tax-happy liberal.

Nothing is left on which Kerry can run except the Anybody But Bush theme.

We'll have plenty of time for this if things go badly next week.

I sympathize with your nervousness, but in all truth the polls are not bad. And REMEMBER what the lib media wants you to forget, things like Jeb Bush and Whoever-it-was who ran against him (McBride?) were tied in the polls and Bush won re-election by about 15 points.

As for the items I quote above, while I'm not sure what you mean about trashing his uniform, about the others I'm sure they were not used because to most people they'd be meaningless. I'll bet 80% of the US Voting population has NO IDEA who Daniel Ortega is, or was. You can't judge the average voter by us, or even by the DUmmies.

Now, remember, get out the vote! Remind your friends and family! If it's not close, they can't cheat.

Why? Because the only people it might motivate to vote for Bush who arent already are maybe some fringe Constitutional Party kooks who probably already believe that Kerry is a commie but then they think that Bush is also. On the other hand, if Bush were to run such ads, it might cause a few female voters to scream foul and change their vote to Kerry. It would be the equivalent of Kerry and his Mary Cheney flub.

Bush is ahead in Wisconsin, and will take it.

I live here, and I see it.

The speech he gave in Marlton NJ was tough as hell. The only place I heard any of it was from Hugh Hewitt.

Unfortunately, Bush lets conservatives do most of his fighting for him. If it wasn't conservative radio talk shows and several programs on Fox, I don't think he would be doing so well in the polls.

I have wondered about that myself – and can only conclude that the RNC is running the cleanest campaign in history.
It’s about time, and I hope it works. Maybe the dems will pick up on the idea the next time around.

Here's how I see it.
Popular vote:
Bush 52,456,002
Kerry 51,999,897
Bush wins!

"Why Don't Republicans Fight Back?"

Because it is unseemly to fight with sissified girlymen and the mentally challenged. "Work" for W don't "fight" for him

You forget that the closer we get to the election becomes magic time where the pollsters have to drop their secret sauce and wishful thinking and try to get their polls so their final numbers are similar to the real end result. Kerry and his fellow leftists are going to be hating life when that happens.

Kerry will take Wisconsin, the other swing states, and win in land slide of fraudulent votes. Since you live here too, do you remember what the Republicans did when Governor Doyle vetoed the voter ID bill a little over a year ago? NUTHIN that's what they did, and that's why I don't give 'em any money when they come sniffing around. You should wake up and smell the coffee. Thousands of phoney voter registrations have been made, and the Democrats are going send stooges to vote as those names.
