I was there as well, in fact must've sat very close to MFH.

I think they should've shot the plane down. Plus there was a loooooooong period of time where the F-16 had overrun the small plane and was in front of it. An F-16 can only go so slow, especially after racing hard to get to the area (you could hear it coming.) I guess he just couldn't slow down enough. With a machine gun or rockets the small plane could have raised hell, even committed the the worst case and the F-16 couldn't have done anything about it. Maybe the F-16 was showing the way to the Merritt Island Airport.

I started watching the security guys on top of the stadium. You can see on the left of the photos is a good-sized case at the foot of one of the guys. As the plane got way too close the security guy looked like he was going for the case but held back (due to radio transmission?) What's in the case? Rifles? It looked to me big enough for a shoulder-fired missile but the contents were never revealed.

It was scary. I feared for the President's life.

What a small world! Guenevere and I must have been rubbing elbows with you! We were all the way to the left by the stairs, on the top row and the second from top row. Just made it back home after another engagement. Thanks for posting.

I have a question... when Bush is at these rallies, is he URGING you guys to go out and vote TODAY like the democrats are? We need good voter turnout early also! that is KEY to good turnout overall.

"How badly do you think that F-16 pilot wanted to splash that moron in the Cessna?"

Actually, it looks more like a Piper Cub to me. Hard to tell, though, but it is a taildragger (I know, early Cessnas have tailwheels).

Thanks for posting these - they're fantastic. I videotaped the coverage on channel 13 and then when c-span re-aired their coverage at 6PM, I taped that, too. I'm hoping that c-span covered the Jacksonville rally and airs it soon because I would love to get that one taped, too.

I think I saw someone on this thread say that President Bush will be at the Orange Bowl next week. I sure hope so!!I wanna go!

.....but I'm sure our red rag newspaper in the AM will probably report a couple hundred or whatever!!!...

I choked on my coffee the other morning when I opened the editorial page of the Red Paper and saw that they had endorsed Dave Weldon (R) for reelection to Congress PLUS they had a Jeff Parker cartoon that was anti-Kerry!

I thought I was in an alternate universe for a second.

Couldn't make it to see the President today, unfortunately. Had to take one of my boys to a birthday party.

Thats great news. I was worried that maybe we weren't realizing that we could have a huge turnout with early voting.

You have GOT to be kidding! They ENDORSED Dr. Dave?!?

Great show, Space Coast - that looks to be around 15,000 people at least (I think the stadium holds 10,000).

Many thanks for the pics. They are great.

I'm in Melbourne today. Trouble is, the Melbourne I'm in is in Australia. Not much chance of seeing the President here, sadly.

I can't vote, but want as many Bush supporters as is humanly possible to vote on my behalf.

An American friend of mine who also lives in Melbourne (Australia) has already voted for the President and her vote will be counted in Pennsylvania.
