[history]
From the article by Guardian columnist Charlie Brooker:
"On November 2, the entire civilised world will be praying, praying Bush loses. And Sod's law dictates he'll probably win, thereby disproving the existence of God once and for all. The world will endure four more years of idiocy, arrogance and unwarranted bloodshed, with no benevolent deity to watch over and save us. John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, John Hinckley Jr - where are you now that we need you?"

Trying for a visit from the Secret Service is he? No. Better we should get him to repeat that remark live on CNN.

If any nation is prepared to participate in violent intervention in the affairs of another state, it must be prepared to accept the possibility that others may wish to visit the same upon them. I'll believe that kind of moral equivalency the day that America is found guilty of knocking down Big Ben while we yell "Jesus Saves!"

2) The end of Gulf War I was a CEASEFIRE. At which time, Saddam Hussein, under several UN resolutions, (spanning 12 years) had to PROVE he destroyed him WMD. Instead he played a game of 'find 'em if you can' with the inspectors. (not that I give a rat's a$$ about the WMD anyway.) But THAT is what the world told him he had to do...did he do it? Not only that; Saddam routinely fired on American and British planes in the UN sanctioned No Fly Zones almost from day one of the cease fire. If Clinton was such a pantywasted, poll pandering pervert he should have rolled over Bhagdad and Saddam after the first missile was fired at a Coalition plane.
Cause and effect just isn't your strong suit, coconut.

My feelings exactly! This kind of talk also reminds me of John Kerrys rhetoric on terrorists. All Ive ever heard is "find them and kill them". Im not trying to sound pro-terrorists here, but arent we suppossed to try to catch them, try them, and put them away if possible/feasible? Liberals like this are evil.

Tks for the Ping.
I guess the Guardian has gone almost as low as they can, with this diatribe.
Although I wouldn't put any money on that.

"I'd be interested in an itemisation of these crimes"
Yeah?
Why don't you go read your Irish history?
Or even British history for that matter.
Not even the most partisan British nationalist is dumb enough to deny the crimes committed by the British against the Irish.
I hae already mentioned the massacres carried out against the Irish when Oliver Cromwell invaded Ireland.. and razed whole villages to the ground, including slaughtering every single living creature out there , including women children cattle, everything in entire villages.
You guys should be ashamed of yourselves!
"Tell you what, how about a free and democratic election in Northern Ireland? (A part of the UK) Yes, we did that and guess what? Sinn Fein could not win a majority and took up the AK47 and semtex. "
Free and fair elections in Ireland? Don't make me laugh.
What Ireland exactly are you talking about?
You British imperialists and colonialists imported "loyalist" crazies like Ian Paisley and his psycho pals from the mainland to populate the northern part of Ireland, then proceeded to SPLIT Ireland onto two, just so you can have a "Northern Ireland" populated by people sympathetic to the British cause.
That's one if the dirtiest tricks ever.
If you think you want to hold a proper election, that election should be for the whole of Ireland, not the artificial "Northern Ireland" you clowns created. Get it?
Bottom line, the British have caused massive amounts of pain and suffering to the Irish, carried out more massacres against the Irish, and terrorized the Irish for over 500 years.
The Irish were within their rights to do everything in their power to kick you British creeps out!
For a fat ugly pock face, smelly English skunk like your Charlie Booker, who is not fit to even kiss President Bush's feet, to call for President Bush's assassination, when there are huge crimes committed against humanity by the evil Brutish staring at him right at home is beyond belief!
Go tell your pathetic smelly Booker to go vent his spleen on his on his own evil fellow Englishmen(like yourself) who committed more slaughter and genocide against more people n more continents than any other people in history, and continue to oppress the true Irish people of Northern Ireland even as we speak, will you?

BTW, if your Charlie Brooker thinks he is a really tough guy, why doesn't he attempt to come to New York right now?
I already sent the pathetic coward an invitation for him to come sample the kind of "hospitality" Americans reserve for those psychotic Englishmen who advocate the assassination of our president.
You English losers never learn do you?
You keep starting fights with America, you can't possibly win.
Its becoming tiresome giving you girly men English fags like Charlie Brooker a beating.

"You are so right Choccy. It was satire. It wasn't even in the main serious part of the paper, but in a TV Review."
Rubbish.
Your skunk Charlie Brooker was as full of hate , viciousness and bile as any Al Quaeda terrorist, and he is equally as evil.
This guy had no business walking the streets.
Charlie Brooker is certifiably insane. He need to be taken away in a straitjacket by the men in white coats!
BTW, Mr. "gayatheistuk", you wouldn't also happen to be the self same "Choccy" will you?
It won't be the first time DU crazies have come here and logged on under multiple user names in order to put in "posts" backing themselves and try to stir up trouble here.
You guys are sooooooo sick!
"The lack of perspective shown in most of the responses on here beggars belief. "
The real lack of perspective shown here, is for a supposedly "established" British newspaper like The Guardian to call for the assassination of a sitting US President!
That is beyond the pale.
These guys should be in prison!
To: Sir Markus
Actually what I was trying to say was, liberals will fight to the death for their right to kill the "inconvenient" (unborn, ill, too old, not perfect, a republican president) but run like the dickens when it comes to killing something that is a threat (terrorists, serial killers, etc...) I guess one liners are not my forte.

Please don't overly concern yourselves. Very few people here in England take the Guardian seriously.
