The basis of all law is "motive." Calculatedly living and voting in two states is a crime........not moving and forgetting to cancel voter registration.

According to a news report I saw yesteday, Kansas and Missouri.

I am a resident of Arizona (we have loads of Snow Birds) and I talked to an election official the other day. I asked if they are checking double voting here and she said they are. I volunteered to help and she told me to call back the day after the election.

The crime SHOULD be to register in more than one state. What the snowbirds (I'd use the NYC Yiddish expression, but I'd get into trouble) will do is not vote in NY since their votes will not alter the result, only the margin, and they will cast their votes in Fls. where they will have enormous impact. But if the law only criminalizes actually voting in more than one state, then the snowbirds will not have broken any federal law.

about 10,000 -- according to newsmax and other reports. That's how many are voting in two locations (NY and FLA)

You know, when I lived in MD, I was registered to vote there. When I moved to FL, I registered here, but never unregistered in MD. For all I know, I'm one of these 68,000. Nothing necessarily ominous about it, given the influx of folks into FL and the low priority of turning off the old registration. I'm sure some people will cheat, but I don't think it's as bad as it looks. FWIW.

the election is pre-arranged

By whom?

If the election is pre-arranged, why should we bother to vote?

The "prearrangement" may have something to do with the actual voting outcome -- just a theory from about six decades of viewing these matters. So vote ....... if you're voting for Bush. If not, stay home.

Elections officials said they have few ways to prevent someone from registering in two states at once, and a lack of safeguards makes it easy for people to vote illegally, the Orlando Sentinel reported in a story for Friday's editions.

We all knew this was coming--in fact, we had 4 long years to prepare for it. Why didn't the Congress and the States act? Where is the law that requires proof of citizenship and photo ID before you can vote?

This is not rocket science. In New Jersey, I needed five (yes--5) forms of ID to get a Drivers License!

Also, voter fraud should be a Class 1 Felony - not a Class 5 as it currently is under law.

Voter Fraud is TREASON, pure and simple. It should be punished as such.

This is interesting. Do you mean the election rigged?

BTW, I wouldn't think of voting for anyone but Bush.

Both Congress and some of the states did act in the aftermath of the 2000 election. Then the issue lost its intensity and faded back into the shadows. The moral of the story was and remains that negligence and corruption flourish in an atmosphere of citizen apathy.

PROSECUTE ALL VOTE FRAUD!!!

That sure makes sense! But the fact that fraud is so easily accomplished, and the fact that those who commit fraud have little or nothing done to them really makes me believe that the elections are all a charade, just a big show. It makes NO SENSE that fraud is treated as it is ....... that it is ignored for the most part.

Post # 33 says it best.

Everyone who cares about the honesty of our elections should go to Votescam.com! The truth is on that website.

Stalin was right, it's not the votes but it's who counts the votes that matters. We have that covered this time, IMO.
