Global Warming is cause of Hurricane Intensity
Hometown News | 10/01/04 | Unknown

Posted on 10/23/2004 6:04:13 AM PDT by cowboyway

The following is a piece from the Rants and Raves section of the Hometown News, a local rag in Palm Beach County, mostly used for fish wrap:

"As we dig out from the third hurricane in less that a month and brace for a fourth, it's natural to wonder: why such extreme weather?

Scientists agree that global warming makes sea levels rise and makes storms stronger because temperature shifts disrupt the normal balance. Warmer water makes more violent hurricanes.

And even big insurance companies like Swiss Re and Munich Re agree that global warming is causing more losses.

While President Bush is handing out emergency aid, it's worth remembering that he's done nothing to reduce global warming; in fact, he has done a lot to make the problem worse.

President Bush has done nothing to stop global warming pollution, which is making extreme weather stronger. Instead, he's helped the oil companies drill more and the big polluters pollute more at every opportunity.

He's walked away from the Kyoto Protocol, the only major international treaty to curb global warming pollution.

He broke a campaign to limit emmisions of CO2, the biggest global warming pollutant.

And his energy bill contains tens of billions of dollars in subsidies to oil and coal industries that cause most of this pollution, while doing virtually nothing to make our use of these energy sources more efficient or to promote cleaner alternatives.

Next time somebody akds you about this crazy weather, think about President Bush protecting big polluters, instead of protecting us from their global warming pollution."

One can only conclude from this article that President Bush is directly responsible for the hurricanes that have hit Florida this year. GW must be a god.

NOTE: I could not find a link for this newspaper.

Damn, took 'em 4 pargraphs to get to the "It's Bush's Fault" crap.

These people are slipping.

We have had one of the coolest 4-year stretches of weather on record in the upper Midwest.

Question: How do we get some of this "global warming" heat to work its way up here? I'd like to bring out the summer clothes sometime.

This is the type of rubbish one should expect from folks who were "born yesterday" They seem to be unaware (or in denial) that over billions of years the earth's climate has had extreme variances - none due to human existence.

It seems global warming is also the cause of ridiculously shitty disaster films too.

Utter, rubbish.
What's contained in this piece are the rantings of stark raving mad moon-bats. There's not one fact in this complete screed.

Global warming has caused all the leaves to turn colors and fall off the trees here in Michigan.

Just like the psychobabbling Algore giving a 'blame W for Global Warming' speech on the coldest day in recorded history last winter, this factually challenged blue-haired yellowdog condo commando will be stuttering excuses as people in his former New England hometown are on TV crying about the high cost of home heating oil and the record cold spell they're under.

The ignorance of this writer is astounding. Anyone who calls CO2 "pollution" deserves my "Idiot of the Week" award.

Being in Michigan we know that global warming is a bunch of BS. since Bush has already solved this crisis, I guess we can give him credit for the Great Lakes levels coming back up too!!

What!? Why, why this is a scandal. That means we liberals have been dead wrong about everything all along.

Hey, everybody, run right out and vote for Bush.

Everybody?

Anybody?

Talk about falling on deaf ears.

Is it coming back up? I just read a National Geographic article in a doctor's waiting room that made it sound like Armageddon.

Until climatologists can forecast the weather accurately five days from now, their predicitons about global warming will be nothing more than mental masturbation.
