I realize the listeners and visitors to NRANews.com are not necessarily a representative sample of gun owners. But they probably are a good chunk of the folks for whom the gun issue is vital.

And their reaction to Kerry’s hunting trip? Laughter, mostly. In particular, Kerry’s not carrying his own goose struck real hunters as a particularly non-hunterly.

It strikes them as a squeamish refusal to actually touch the dead duck

Why does the media think that most gun owners are avid hunters? Gun ownership and hunting do not necessarily go hand in hand. I own guns to protect me and my family PRIMARILY. Kerry hasn't addressed that - oh wait - he has and he says he is against 'assault weapons'.

It has mention of Kerry being awarded the puprle heart at the event yesterday because he turned his ankle while hunting. It is too funny.

My thoughts exactly when I saw the clip on the news, I wondered why Kerry had a flunky carrying his kill. Reminded me of a Lord of the Manor and his manservant.

And we can be sure that Te-RAY-sa didn't pluck that duck, either.
