How's Quinnipiac's record?
Forget PA. We can take Michigan and New Jersey.
Bummer.
So if these PA internals are accurate, voters are intentionally choosing the candidate who promises to do more for them personally (health, job) than the one they know will better defend this country and the world. How shitty.
They are okay - they are do not particularly lean left or right. I have a feeling that Kerry will win PA but not by much! Just the way the polls have been going.
Democracy at its finest. LOL
Good grief. It's a five-point lead in one poll, and you're ready to abandon efforts in the state. I'm glad you're not in charge.
I live in Pennsylvania and there are often days when I hate this state. This is one of them.
They want gubmint run healthcare and higher taxes on other people to pay for it.
We wouldn't HAVE a Democratic party if pandering to the worst in people didn't work.
I'd bet a large portion of that 47% won't even bother to vote.
How shitty.
Your summation is appropriate....
PA is probably going to remain blue, unless we have an October surprise in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, if you know what I mean.
I was listening to the radio and the CNN radio news break reported on the CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll giving Kerry the lead in Ohio and for the national results -- the AP/IPSOS poll, which is the only one that gives Kerry a lead.
Yes, the polls have been going that way and at least here in the pHilly suburbs, I see many more Kerry signs. But my husband heard on the radio yesterday that the primary concern of PA is terrorism and national security which bodes well for the president. We'll see. I just don't know. Sen. Santorum certainly sounded upbeat on Imus this morning about the state going for the president. He didn't even think the election as a whole was going to be that close. Internals?
It's not the Dems, its their media.
Remember when the Pres signed those enormous spending bills, for ed and drugs, the media howled saying it was TOO expensive.
And polls showed that the public agreed.
BUT, if the Dem promise goodies, the media says "how sweet", and the public agrees.
The NY media is our enemy, the Dems can be defeated with fair coverage.
Q'piac leans left. They are very unreliable outside of NY/CT/NJ. They aren't terrible for election races in those states, but don't trust them for polls about "issues".
Bush was in PA just yesterday. Also be aware that PA polls are often unreliable as it is so evenly split. Bush was campaigning in PA Dutch country yesterday, an area often ignored as the amish and mennonites rarely vote but may be a factor this round. Also this is the heart of PA sportsman country. These guys stayed home in 2000 and may have handed the state to Gore. Bush allowed the Assualt Weapons ban to lapse. Still time. If this result hold up next week then I would be worried
Bush will win PA; Bush Campaign (national and local) has been working extremely hard in PA. Bush didn't lose PA by much last time ... especially considering Gore spent alot of time there and Bush basically had NO organization or local efforts in PA in the last month of the 2000 election.
