There is a battlefield of insanity between us.

Boy, isn't THAT the truth! I live most of my life here in the South Bay and rarely have a need to get on our crazy freeways. Last time I went up your way, was to go out to the Reagan Library this summer. On the way back, there was a massive accident on the 101. I understand it took hours to clean up. We didn't sit around waiting, but got off the freeway and drove through the streets to a point where we were past the accident.

I rarely if ever go farther south or east than the intersection of the 405 and 101. I either go north to Mohave and make a right turn to take the 15 to Vegas, or go west to Ventura county. My favorite beach is Port Hueneme State Beach. I take a route there that goes through the coastal mountains and at the end you see the sun over the farmland and it looks absolutely picture-perfect. I take my occasional date there. There is a pier on that beach from which you can see the 2 islands on a clear day. And the water there is normal- no brown bubbles in the surf.

Simi is a nice ride too. I take my occasional date to the Reagan Library also because it has been excellently done as a quiet place to reflect and talk. It's timeless. I'll go back after they get the construction done on and for his jet. Maybe I should volunteer? I was an airframe mechanic once for Gulfstream in Van Nuys.
