So said, he has a bar-b-que for them every year and sits with them, talks and eats with them.

Our Dubya is as genuine as the big skies over Texas. A far cry from most politicians of either party, but especially from the Dems who are true Leftists, yet pretend to be otherwise.

Have we had any president in recent history drawing crowds this large, so consistently and enthusiastically?

I don't know. Bill Clinton drew big crowds, but consistently? I just didn't pay enough attention to him and his doings to remember.

"But I think so many people have bought into the notion that Republicans can't win here anymore (other than a big celebrity like Arnold), that it discourages them from giving it a try."

Maybe that is their trick. If Arnold finds a way to manage the State, there could be some sunshine. BTW, what city are you in? I live in Chatsworth. Didn't we have this question between us a year or so ago? Time has barriers and distance.

Were you there today?

Grin...thanks for asking, but I live in the Los Angeles area. When I get the time, I've been posting these "size of the crowd" threads because I figure other FReepers are as interested as I am.

That's 30,000 in the stands, right??

Look at all the people on the FIELD in addition!

This is SO amazing! The love of the American people for our President is awe-inspiring!

No amount of hate from the left is going to defeat him. The battle belongs to the LORD!

They still come in a drenching downpour!

By the tens of thousands, and bringing their kids for a once-in-a-lifetime glimpse of a truly great man.

Dear Lord Jesus, Give your servant leader the Heart of David, the Strength of Samson and the Wisdom of Solomon. Lord protect him from any attack that would come his way. In Jesus' Name, Amen

Prayers for W and Our Troops

I live in the Torrance area. Perhaps we did explore this question awhile back, but it's easy to lose track of people on a busy forum like this.

I went to the rally in Columbia, MO earlier this month and there were 20,000+ people at the Fairgrounds. More than 2500 were stuck on the Interstate trying to get in. Some folks parked their cars along the shoulder of the road and walked more than 3 miles to get into the grounds.

They had SS Sharp Shooters posted everywhere. They kept the crowd in the fairgrounds until the President's buses left and once the President was airbound the crowd got to leave. We didn't mind. We were so enthused with the rally that it was like a family reunion and pep rally all wound up together......and our side won!

The MSM played it back on the evening news like it was just another ho-hum day in Columbia, Missouri, home of the Fighting Tigers of Mizzou!

Also one of the largest Muslim communities in the USA identified to have Al Queda and Hammas cell in their ranks.

The stadium is used for high school football, especially for district playoffs and sometimes state finals.

No, actually, if I correctly followed the folks who live in the area, it holds 30,000, including those who stand on the field during such events.

Amen! And let's not just pray for our troops. Let's remember that they have the toughest job of all. Our job is easy by comparion. Our job is to turn out by the tens of millions, no matter what, and vote for our president. Our job is to let nothing deter us from voting -- not early media calls, not bad weather, not the flu, not a car in the shop, not laziness, nothing other than serious illness or accident should deter us from voting. It's the least we can do when our young people are overseas in harms way.

Frustrating, isn't it. Sometimes I just want to reach through the TV screen and throttle some of those media dopes.

Torrance from Chatsworth is harder to get to than Santa Barbara on any day. There is a battlefield of insanity between us.

I was told that the local news estimated the crowd at 31,000.

BTW this weekend and next weekend is Hershey Park in the Dark. Lots of fun!

He feels like family.

I went to bed about the time you posted this, which is why I didn't respond then. You're right. GWB feels like family. What the MSM and the punditocracy miss when they talk about the Dem/Leftist rage against the president is that there is an equal -- maby even a greater -- sense of love, respect, and honor for GWB on our side of the political divide. Hopefully, we will overwhelm the hate come election day.
