Yawn. My husband has asthma and he was a vaginal birth.

How can you say that anecdotal evidence of healthy children is meaningless? I breastfed all of my children due to allergies and other health concerns in my husbands (yeah that is plural, I have more than one husband) famiies.

As I told a previous poster, indeed anecdotes do not equal data, nor do correlation equal causation.

Also, you are citing your daughter's asthma is anathema to your post, as I read it.

I had one followed by a vaginal delivery. Neither have allergies that can be contributed to anything but genetics.

Maybe meaningless to you...so don't read it then. It also seems that most mothers I have talked to have had the same type of experiences as I have.

I find that you just talking to us like children is absurd. We have the right to compare stories. If you don't like it, read something else.

I really really tried to have a VBAC with my youngest. It just wasn't going to happen, inducement and all. My boys are healthy as horses.

hehehe I personally have HAD more than one husband. ;) My oldest was C-section and bottle fed...very healthy. My youngest was vaginal birth, breast fed, lots of health problems. I just don't trust a lot of those "studies"...either they are usually wrong, or I just do everything backward. LOL

You have every right to compare stories. Just don't confuse that with actual science or logic.

I am the only one in my family with allergies and they are not food allergies but pollen type and I was not born by C-Section. I think heredity plays more into allergies then having a C-Section.

You only have to do what is right. Sheesh! I'm willing to bet most of us were bottle babies and we all turned out okay.

One of my girlfriends is very hefty in the breast department and couldn't breastfeed here kids due to the modesty in public issue.

Asthma is caused by C-section?! Give me a break! I guess we should have dies trying to birth those kids and suffering a ruptured uterus. Botle babies, you bet, given that scenario.

My oldest was induced and like you it wasn't going to happen. His heart rate dropped to 4 and they said sign here. I was ready at that point. The youngest was born in a matter of hours. Both rarely get sick and when they do it is minor.

They both do have one drug allergy. The oldest is allergic to penicillin as is my husband and the youngest is allergic to septra as am I. Like I said, genetics.

Actual science? Give me a break -- so far none of our kids born by C-Section had the problems described but we don't count because we were not part of the study? Maybe we should do a poll on FR and see if that counts? But then that wouldn't a scientific report even though it is factual.

Some science and some medical articles are junk science or haven't you noticed?

Logic? Did you notice the title of the article? "May raise risk"... MAY? Well that's enough for me, even though it counters most mothers stories that I have shared with. (sarcasm intended)
Are you male or female? If male, that would explain your ignorance (not all men are!!!)...if female, do you have kids? What's your excuse?

When I was in terminal labor with my eldest, they finally gave me Pitocin after having me push for about 8 hours. He spit out like a bean as soon as it took.

I had to tell my doctor "I can't do this anymore!" to get the pitocin.

I was a vaginal/breast baby. Allergies, asthma and sick all the time as a kid.

My oldest daughter is ready to make me a grandma any day now... If I had tried to have her vaginally, there would be no chance of that happening...she would be dead. I believe most of these studies are a crock...all done in controlled circumstances.

We here are living in the real world. We real mom's have a clue. (I think we need to ignore these know-it-alls) Get me all mad for no reason. LOL
