I am not stating this as 100% fact but apparently a bomb was discovered this afternoon on the rail tracks in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I wouldn't post this unless I trusted the source. He is a police officer out of Orlando himself and said in confidence that it was found in a suitcase.
Has anyone heard about this locally and if so..what buildings would be of special target in that region to plant a bomb on the tracks? Is this a transportation issue or do trains run through the city past a major building?
Again...this is fresh info told to me minutes ago and it was told to me only because he got the info himself earlier today.
Hey, it just jumped out at me! :)
Let's see if this reaches the main-stream media. Here's some links I'll be watching:

I heard from skerry that this is just a nuisance...sorry...move along
I'm not stating this as 100% fact, but I don't think this will make the main stream media. It was told in confidence.
OPINION: I understand, but once something like this is posted on FR; it will be news one way or the other.
You might want to read the entire thread. And then perhaps take a sponge bath.
See my posts Old Sarge.
I see nothing in the news, but posted links to watch.
And yet you post it as a fact????
Nice job
LOL
You might want to have some Florida links, too, in case the law enforcement source decides to tell a reporter in Florida (in confidence, of course).
Under Homeland Security - I would suspect EVERY POLICE agency has been notified.
And people are taking this as if it were series. I hope nobody tells them it's not 100% fact, but that a friend has just told them in confidence that the ballots in their state have been changed so that a vote for Bush is a vote for Kerry and a vote for Kerry is a vote for Bush. I honestly believe some of these people would walk in and punch Kerry's chad.
In confidence, of course.
What happened with that missile story yesterday in Waterbury? Did anyone ever say what kind of missile they found in the house, or if it was a model rocket or what?
Go back to your shower and we'll let you know.
Last time we had a chicken little thread on train derailments, I looked up the numbers on the web (the feds post the statistics). There has been no statistical increase. As I recall, the railroads average over one derailment a day.
Here's the old thread:

and here's the stats:

Have fun.
Sorry, I never heard the story in the first place.
It was posted here on FR yesterday, but I didn't hear anything else about it afterward.
I don't know what the restrictions are on who can be told what .. and it might differ - depending on the location of the threat - and how serious the threat is.
But .. all that aside .. I suspect the suitcase was meant for another location and was dumped when the people carrying it felt they were being watched. I haven't ridden a train for a long time, but I suspect it might be fairly easy to go to the end of the train and toss something out without being seen ..?? Just a thought!
Thank you very much. A lot of our time at work is spent running through "what if" scenarios. I appreciate the info, it will come in handy.
