I agree. I send my kids to public school and it is a fine school. I am qualified to teach, but know it is not in their best interest.

It's hard not to engage these kool-aid drinker homeschool as a religion types, but it isn't worth the headache or the unending pings for days on end when they troll through these threads. Been there, suffered that.

I agree with you.

You know that part of the reason we moved to Virginia was because the schools in Delaware are so bad and so far we have not regretted it. Granted our daughter is only in first/second grades and this is only our 2nd year with the school - but I've yet to meet a bad teacher or administrator. But you know me, if I meet one, I'll let it be known!!!! Thankfully IBP is not something being discussed here.

Your assessment of homeschooling is perfect, I didn't go that route because I don't believe I could do it properly, let alone do it well.

Being a stay-at-home mom is a bit of a financial strain, but none of us are wanting for anything, and if I was working we would have to pay for afterschool care, so what's the point?

Your comments are insulting, not only to me, but to the First Lady, to all home schoolers and all stay at home moms.

Nevertheless, that is my gov't school experience. My comments were directed primarily at gov't school teachers and librarians.

Additionally, Laura's pro-abortion position is contemptible and indefensible.

I probably would qualify to teach, but my temperment does not make it a viable choice.

I usually don't engage them either, but the plans I had for the day didn't pan out, so I'm game for something to do before the homework supervising starts!!!

Since you are so into blaming, blame your parents for not finding a better school for you.

You comment's regarding Mrs. Bush's "pro-abortion" stance are going totally over my head as I've never heard any such thing. Additionally that has nothing to do with the subject of this thread, so I suggest you DROP it.

She is horrific...on every level. She is not civilized, is not generous, cannot handle direct questioning which points out error or hypocrisy on her part, is unable to handle stree with grace, cannot be bothered to hide her arrogance, has willingly tramped on the beliefs of her deceased husband who left her with a huge fortune and no doubt, his trust and whines. Worse, she has stated living in our precious WH will be a comedown that she is not looking forward to.

She stinks.

And she is the wife of a man who could not perform his senate duties then, or now.

Nothing against the late John Heinz but I wonder what he saw in her. I always joke at things like these, "he needs glasses worse than I do and I'm terminally nearsighted." B-P I'm from Pittsburgh too. Anyhoo, that's in the past, all I can say is keep flappin' those gums, Terry Kerry, you're a great help, to President Bush.

Really, she is pathetic, I always thought she was stoned, drunk, or whatever.

I know you are qualified to teach. I have the same temperment problem---it is short! ; ) Honestly, I have the discipline to do it, I just would rather not. Additionally, we have the same dilemma you have; we are out in the country and there are no other children around. The boys get to be away from us and with their friends and their beloved teachers.

My kids, as did my brother and I, learn better from others. For instance, swimming, I had hubby teach them since he won't take any crap from them and I give up when they get teary.

Re: Homeschool junkies:I figured you were feeling feisty today! ; )

Must you insult kitties? Cats woud never vote for such trash.

Well, one of my cats, G.W. ("Dubya") puked when she gave her speech at the Demo convention. That'll tell ya something.

We originally called him G.W. for "Grey & White," but it's nice he shares the same name as the President. B-)

The out in the country thing can be a bit daunting.

Jax started whining back in June about one of her friends moving and going to a different school, after school started she was complaining that her friend didn't move, but was in a different class. On Saturday I met her friend, and the friend's parents........talk about nearly instantaneous friendship!!!!!!!! what's really funny is the two of them can pass for sisters..........as was proven when the other girl's aunt tried shooing jax over to "her" grandmother!!!!!! I didn't understand the mixup until a little later when I finally met the child.............same long blond hair and both were wearing pink shirts and jeans. It was hysterical!

I will always defend the homeschoolers, but I will not tolerate criticism from them for not doing so myself.

"She has that half-in-the-bag look "

I agree with the bag part!! LOL

The thing I like about liberals if we can just step back a minute and not worry about the election, is to just watch them self destruct. Let them TALK, we just sit back and calmly refute but they are doing all the heavy lifting and brining themselves down.

CD

Amen! I have defended homeschooling for those who choose to do so. I don't. That is MY choice and I hate getting ripped for supposedly being neglectful for what I think is the right choice for my children. That is too funny about Jax and her friend!

Teresa the Terrible, needs to have the connection between her pie hole and her brain replaced.

Wonder what kind of real job Teresa held down before netting the millionaire Heinz? Maybe a lumber jackie??

Since you are so into blaming, blame your parents for not finding a better school for you.

Let me explain to you how the gov't school system works. You pay for gov't schools through your property taxes and your children are assigned to a gov't school unless you can afford to homeschool or pay twice for your child's education by sending them to a private school.

Like most people, they didn't have much of a choice.

My years of detention in the gov't schools were easily the worst of my life. Fortunately, as an adult, I am able to keep my children out by homeschooling. Unfortunately, I'm forced to pay for the perpetuation of this diabolical system.

Yes, I said diabolical. It's the only way to describe a system that strips parents of their natural function as a child's primary educators.

You comment's regarding Mrs. Bush's "pro-abortion" stance are going totally over my head as I've never heard any such thing. Additionally that has nothing to do with the subject of this thread, so I suggest you DROP it.

Someone had mentioned her as a paragon of virtue or womanhood or teacherhood or something.

Teresa pisses backwards!

TERESA BACKTRACKS [10/20 03:25 PM] Teresa Heinz Kerry released the following statement today:

"I had forgotten that Mrs. Bush had worked as a school teacher and librarian, and there couldn't be a more important job than teaching our children. As someone who has been both a full time mom and full time in workforce, I know we all have valuable experiences that shape who we are. I appreciate and honor Mrs. Bush's service to the country as First Lady, and am sincerely sorry I had not remembered her important work in the past."
