TERESA: TEACHING ISN'T A 'REAL JOB' [10/20 12:19 PM]

From USA Today interview with Teresa Heinz Kerry:

Q: You'd be different from Laura Bush? A: Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good. But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up.

What arrogance. Stunning, unmitigated arrogance!

From the White House:

Inspired by her second grade teacher, she earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Southern Methodist University in 1968. She then taught in public schools in Dallas and Houston. In 1973 she earned a master of library science degree from the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a public school librarian in Austin [until 1977].

Hey, teachers, librarians: Teresa Heinz Kerry says your work isn't a "real job"!

We can't all be ketchup heiresses, you know.

My apologies if I misread your fury. My wife is a homeschooling Mom, so her dedication has been dismissed on two counts: Faithful Mother AND Educator.

If Karl Rove is worth his reputation, he'd have insisted that THK have her own talk show for a half-hour a day. Every time she opens her mouth, it works to our benefit.

PS. Remind me never to cross you!

Teresa received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa in 1960 and graduated from the Interpreters School at the University of Geneva three years later. Fluent in English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese, she moved to the United States and got a job working as a translator for the Trusteeship Council of the United Nations.

No apology needed. Yes, you are correct, your wife was slammed twice.

I have all the respect in the world for home-schoolers, but it is not for me. We saw that early on, and so did the next best thing.........researched schools and moved in order to find the best we could, while still being within my husband's job territory.

I totally agree that everytime she opens her mouth it is a plus for our side.

LOL!! about crossing me, even my husband hesitates doing that, but I'm really just a pussy cat!!!!

I went to school. I had teachers. I'm inclined to agree with the Terazor on this one.

But I don't know that she's ever had a real job.

um, and you have?

I've said it over and over for years. The devil's friends will always accuse the good people of the evil that they themselves do, or the shortcomings that they themselves have.

It's like a bullfighter waving a red cape: "Look over here! Over here is the issue! Not that over there!" You know, "the pot calling the kettle black." Are there any other ways to say it?

Your point being????????

Those who can do. Those who can't, teach. Generally. That's been my experience. Particularly in gov't school.

Unlike most people here, I'm underwhelmed by Laura Bush, particularly because of her contemptible pro-abortion position. She's a mother for God's sake. She strikes me as the archetypal cold-blooded librarian. Your mileage may vary.

There are good and bad in any profession. Frankly, after three children who went through public school, there were far more good teachers then bad. The problem now is the system seems bent on making liberal lefties out of our children by indoctrinating them. The International Baccalaureate Program being one tool they use.

As for homeschooling I think it is awesome, if done well. I know a number of young people who did that and they are over achievers and independent thinkers. Not mass produced liberals. It's hard work. Stay at home moms are offering the stability of a home to their children, it is quite a challange. Families give up a lot of material things to do this.

All in all this comment by teresa rivals the hillary comment about how she could have stayed home and baked cookies. I think this is big. What a waste of human breath teresa heinz kerry is.

Interesting..........I send my child to public school because I am unable to teach and I know it.

Your comments are insulting, not only to me, but to the First Lady, to all home schoolers and all stay at home moms. In fact your comments are no differnt than the ketchup hag's comments.

Could be. I think she is probably on some sort of barbiturate, valium, perhaps. She has that half-in-the-bag look my aunt used to get when she was on that stuff.
