1st team in Baseball History to force a game 7
Really, I could care less who wins!! Overpaid bunch of girlie boys to me!!! They dont work nearly as hard as 99% of the people, but we watch them, and they get the riches!!
You may wonder why I posted the old time leafs sweater earlier in this thread. One of two NHL teams which have done the miracle comeback. The 1942 Stanley Cup finals results.
Toronto Maple Leafs 4, Detroit Red Wings 3
Coach: Hap Day
Captain: Syl Apps
April 4: Detroit 3, TORONTO 2
April 7: Detroit 4, TORONTO 2
April 9: DETROIT 5, Toronto 2
April 12: Toronto 4, DETROIT 3
April 14: TORONTO 9, Detroit 3
April 16: Toronto 3, DETROIT 0
April 18: TORONTO 3, Detroit 1
I like the way you think.
That's what capitalism and a freemarket economy does for you. Are you a commie???
Are you a Troll!!!
I don't have any problem with the money as a rule, but the money that the Rangers paid to Alex Rodgriguez was way more than he earned. He played well, had a high batting average but he refused to promote the team. To do anything to help sell tickets that would help pay his humungous salary.
Oh well, the Rangers did better this year without him.
These posts are all makings the huge assumption that the Astros will beat the Cardinals. Let's remember which team it was that had the best record in baseball, five gold gloves, and a 2-3-4-5 that's one of the best EVER. Not to mention that although Backe pitched a gem in game 5, so did Williams. As much as I want to see the Red Sox win one (lived in Mass. for 3 years) or the Astros (respect a lot of those guys - they play hard every game), in the end, the Yankees don't have enough pitching and the Cardinals have too many big bats. Yankees and Cardinals in the Series and Cards win in 6.
I Agree 100 %
Im a Rangers fan by nature. Yanks have to win, have too. If it did come down to Astros, Sox, your right, the media would make a big deal about it.
Bet a lot are hoping for it now.
Not at all. I do all my trolling at FARK. I come here for some peace and quiet. I am just ribbing you. The overpaid athelete thing is a tired cliche, except if you happen to be an overpaid athelete, then it's the realization of the American dream. The salary is what the market will bear, therefor I don't see anything wrong with that.
> Houston versus Red Sox. Clemens versus his old team?
The "Clemens vs. Red Sox" was already in 1999 and 2003. A "Clemens vs. Yankees" series would be new.
I hope they can get up tomorrow. I'm tired, just from watching them in the Pacific Time Zone.
I think ever7one in New England was making deals with the Lord. Maybe the7 said, "if the sox win,I'll vote for W" The7 better follow through or else!! Kerr7's Gonna lose in a big wa7!!!!
the leafs are gonna win it this year, i can feel it.
:)
God forbid!
Matter of fact, that has been appended to every statement I make, if Kerry should cheat enough - GOD FORBID -...
sorry but you can't script October :)
LOL!!!!!
Well I wasnt trying to be mean, all I said, is do you think a man is worth getting paid 200 millon or more to play baseball, when most americans get paid 8 or 9 bucks an hour to sweat there butts off!!! Im not barking up youre tree!!! I was just making a statement, because I think its wrong! I dont see where they are better than me or you, but we pay their salaries by watching!! Im not rich, Are you!!
"Eddie Yost is spinning in his grave."
I had an Eddie Yost model infielder's glove when I was in Little League in the early '60s. I think he was the third base coach for the Red Sox at the time. He never played for the Sox.
