I was watching the game with a Yankee fan tonight (I am neutral cause I am a Braves fan) and he was throwing stuff on that call and got mad at me for agreeing with the umps call. He left immediately after the game, pissed off. It was not a pretty sight. That's because Yankee fans are not real baseball fans, just bandwagon-jumping drunken yahoos who don't even know the rules of baseball. They pay a week's salary for a ticket just so Steinbrenner can keep buying his way into the Series and the fans can congratulate themselves for backing an over-dog.
How anybody could argue with the interference call tonight is beyond me. Total bush league play, worthy of the bush league Yankee fans who trash the field when they don't agree with an umpire's perfectly reasonable and correct call.

Not only that, but he also called me a SOX fan for agreeing with the ump's call. He said I wanted the game to end when the SOx were winning. I never said GOO SOx! I never said I wanted it to end. I was being neutral and watching a great game.

You are not alone. More people watched the third debate than the baseball playoffs.

Sure.
And if the Astros win, Bush will be president.
And if the Yankees win...Hillary will be president?
And if St. Louis wins...Nader will be president??
To: skikvt
Big deal. Two teams playing to decide who gets to lose to the Astros in the World Series.

Someone mind explaining to me the inability of multi-millionaire players who can't bunt?? Cabrera should have been up to advance the runner to second leaving one out and two better hitters coming up to score an insurance run. at times you almost get the feeling that the Sox can only hit into a double play. A gutsy performance for 3 games but when you reliever (Foulke) comes in in the 9th and walks 2 batters and go to 3-2 on the final batter, I'd suggest getting a REAL closer. Can't figure Arroyo out. In his start he stunk the joint out. Comes in in relief the other night and strikes out the side. Last night he keeps throwing those hanging curves (his only pitch as far as I can see) and if you saw him after the game slapping hands he seemed very depressed - he knew he had not contributed like he should have.
Reread the Pre=season picks in the SI Issue. They predicted every division leader in the AL perfectly, but missed every NL division. Picked my Cubs to win the WS, but obviously they were way off there. Had the Cardinals finishing 3rd, Astros 2nd. Braves were 4th. Phillies to have won their division.

The last time I went to a Pats' game I was bored silly, but I'm a huge Pats fan. You don't realize how much time there is between plays for commercial timeouts. Agreed. Live NFL games (Giants for me) are unendurable now, especially in the cold. 70,000 fans, players, coaches all sitting or standing around doing absolutely nothing for vast stretches of time, scratching their asses while shrill, blaring music and commercials over the loudspeakers pound you into submission.
You fantasize about being warm at home on the couch, then you start strategizing an early exit to beat the traffic.
The fun part is the tailgating beforehand -- the actual game part ain't so great.

remember you heard it here first... IF THE RED SOX (by some miracle) WIN THE WORLD SERIES - JOHN KERRY WILL WIN THE WHITE HOUSE.And pigs will fly, too....
How stupid do people think the voters are? A Baseball team's win will ensure a Presidential election??? There is no causal link between the two! One cannot cause or affect the other, because there is no commonality other than the candidate and the team being from the same state. That does not establish a causal link, nor can it. A Red Sox win cannot "cause" Kerry to be elected.
If you believe that it does, then it must also follow that a Red Sox loss will "cause" Bush to be elected, by "causing" Kerry to lose. There is even less of a connection between Bush and Boston. Yet you would argue, by inference, that the Red Sox losing would hand the election to Bush, hence "causing" it.
Illogical in the extreme!
However, if you're just being facetious, then....never mind!

How can you lard the bad karma of The Swimmer onto the backs of the Red Sox? It ain't fair! The Swimmer's curse can not extend to everything Massachusettsian, can it?

Doctor : Captain, how soon can you land?
Pilot : I can't tell.
Doctor : You can tell me, I'm a doctor.
Pilot : NO, I mean I'm just not sure.
Doctor : Well, can't you take a guess?
Pilot : Well, not for another 2 hours.
Doctor : You can't take a guess for another 2 hours?
Pilot : No, no, no. I mean we can't land for another 2 hours

"The pressure has been on sox the last three nights tomorrow the I think Yankees will be feeling a tightening of the collars."On the contrary -- the Sox were playing with house money. It's only NOW that they play for the pot. The Yanks are well versed in sweeping away the pot.
Throw "momentum" out the door. Psychology and history tell us they lose and the Yanks win.
