Actually, the winner of the Nick "Kids Pick the President Poll" have signalled the outcome of the big race. Since 1988, the Candidate that won "Kids Pick" has been elected, but Internet voting can mess it up--big time.

I was afraid this would happen. When I saw it on Nickelodeon with Linda Ellerbee, I knew that it was just a matter of time before DU and FreeRepublic took it over. I had my child go there and vote (for Bush of course). But I told him that Kerry would probably win this on-line poll because of the automated bots that DU'ers have developed to swamp these kind of polls.

But, seeing as DU will exploit this poll, I guess we should too. Freep away!

Let's let the kids vote in this one. My 6 year old found the site and voted for GW Bush. I guess the picture of him as 1 year old with the President when he was Governor rubbed off on him. Either that or me listening to Rush, etc. in the car and around the house helped too.

I don't know if a bot can do this in this case-- this is written into a Flash movie, and you can't input into those as easily, as a matter of fact, I don't think there's any way you could do it unless you found a server-based script the Flash file was talking to...

NOT LOL!! This is for the kids. Can't we let them have some participation without the adults force-feeding the poll for our own satisfaction???

Last night, I had to sit and explain to my children why the results are not real and that adults were voting on a childrens' website.

My seven year old daughter went there on her own and voted for Bush also, then told me about it later. We pray for him every day (when we start school each morning) so it's a no-brainer for her.

NICKELODEON says they have correctly picked the president in the last 4 elections. Is there any way we can find out how long they have even been online? i don't beleive them.

From their message board:

"Bush is a great leader. He lead the United States very well and I think we shouldn't change that now. Kerry has no experince how to run being a president, but Bush does. Bush is honest, fair, and kind to people of the United States. He may did some wrong choices at the war of Iraq but Bush didn't started it. The Iraq people attacked us first, so Bush didn't have any choice. Kerry, at other hand, is being selfish. President Bush was great, and now Kerry wants that fame too. Bush might be famous, but he doesn't care if he is famous. He wants to care for the USA and protect it. If anyone disagrees with me, then reply this message."
