Lovers' pitstop sends car off cliff
From correspondents in Buenos Aires, Argentina
October 20, 2004
A COUPLE who parked for a bit of passion on wheels got the surprise of their lives after their raucous rocking sent their car over a cliff in the west of Argentina, police said.
There were no serious injuries, police said, but almost certainly some bruised egos as the 35-year-old man and 31-year-old woman plunged more than 300 metres into a ravine in Lujan de Cuyo, in the wine-making province of Mendoza.
Oddly enough, authorities said the couple did not notice when the car took off without a driver.
The man was able to walk out of the vehicle but firemen had to pry his out his stunned companion.

Probably one of these light compacts. A big SUV, on another hand, would likely prove more stable...

You're telling me the car dropped 1000 feet and the guy just walked out? I'm missing something here -- the car must have skidded down the ravine, not just dropped.
