On FNC now...
Local ABC news just interviewed a guy. It was hilarious. A comedian couldn't have done a better job: "I walked out to get the mail -- didn't git no mail -- and I heard this plane ... rummmm, rummmm, rummm ... it hit the ground and flames went everywhere. I thought the world was coming to an end."
Bozo.
Thanks for the update. Prayers going out....
It hit the building on its way down...it was looping down from the sky.
Rescuers on the scene.
Fire(?) is out. Don't know where it was.
That would be VC, not VB. ;->

A twin-engine private plane crashed near the congested Martin Luther King Jr. Historic District this morning, according to Atlanta police.
Sgt. John Quigley said a plane that had just left the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport bound for Florida crashed at Edgewood Avenue and Boulevard.
Quigley said officials did not know the cause of the crash, how many people were on board or their condition or how much damage there was do the buildings in the area.
According to WSB-TV, the pilot of the plane was killed.
Atlanta police have asked for a medical examiner at the scene, which usually means someone has been killed.
Small plane crashes into building in southeast Atlanta
October 19, 2004 ATLANTA (WGCL) -- Authorities report a small twin engine plane has crashed into a building near Edgewood and Daniels in southeast Atlanta, near City Hall East.FAA spokesperson Kathleen Bergen tells CBS 46 News that the aircraft was a twin engine Beech Baron departing from Peachtree Dekalb Airport, headed to Venice, FL. That aircraft can hold a maximum of four people.
The plane is registered to a company in Sarasota, FL.
Bergen also says that with weather and visibility as poor as it is Tuesday, a flight plane is required and that plan indicates how many people are on board.
It's possible the plane struck something after takeoff. There's no word if inclement weather played a factor in the crash.
The building is reportedly abandoned and there is no current reports of injuries from people on the ground.
However, the Atlanta Fire Department is reporting there may be fatalities from the aircraft.
I live in Alpharetta but just prior to the crash we had a very strong thunderstorm group move through Atlanta.
My guess is that this is weather related.
what are you? an idiot?
Your comment is entirely innapropriate.
Yikes. The weather is pretty bad here. Hope those people are okay.
You don't understand FReeper culture yet.
Breaking news like this isn't for telling jokes.
From WGCL-TV:
ATLANTA (AP) -- A small plane went down just before 11 a.m. Tuesday in downtown Atlanta.
There were no immediate reports of injuries, said Atlanta Police spokeswoman Marion Lee. The accident happened near the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, although the site was not damaged.
There were two people on board the twin-engine Beechcraft 55 plane when it crashed at 10:55 a.m., said FAA spokesman Christopher White. The plane had taken off from the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport in Atlanta and was headed to Venice, Fla., he said.
Witnesses said the plane spun out of control and that it hit an abandoned building. A rain storm was moving through the city at the time.
The plane is registered to J&R Aircraft Inc. of Nokomis, Fla. White said he did not know if there was a distress call from the plane before the crash.
It was pandelerium! I thought we'd be killed, or even worse!
