I believe in America.
I believe with every ounce of my heart in the American dream.
I should Ive lived it to its fullest.
I believe in the promise of our future, in the nobility of our past, in the inevitability of our greatness, and I believe that we are the right people to be standing here today, at the crossroads of time.
Beyond our shores the old world is crumbling under the weight of its own lassitude, western civilization is fading fast, and while they may recall with pride the victories of Martel and Diaz de Vivar, there are no Lion-Hearts rising to mount the charge against the tide of the invading hordes these days, and the descendants of Philip Augustus have little taste for the rigors of war.
But Divine Providence placed America where it is today for a reason. It gathered in the whirlwind generations of fierce freedom lovers and pushed them across the mighty oceans to these shores. They came from everywhere, they were hungry, they were determined, and they were hell-bent on being free. They carved from these rocks a mighty nation by the sweat of their brow and the blood in their veins, and a mighty citadel arose in a world the old world called new, with more than a certain amount of disdain in their tone.
We are the sons and daughters of greatness; we are the children of the whirlwind, we are the heirs of the dream. We stand today where generations dreamt and died, where people arose each and every dawn knowing that the day ahead was already better than the day behind.
And we must walk the path chosen for us.
That path is not surrender, that path is not appeasement, that path does not hinge on any global test we are the Americans, the guardians of the West, and we have an appointment with destiny.
What will history say about us?
Will it be written that at the crossroads of time, the Americans turned and sought shelter from the gathering storm?
Or will historians speak in awe at an America whose greatest generation was every generation that ever faced a task of titanic proportions, and rose to the challenge?
This November 2nd, you and I will write History my friends, each and every one of us.
We will have the opportunity to choose from amongst us a man who will either orchestrate the descent of the Americans into the dustbin of time, or one who will stand on the ramparts of this mighty citadel cradled among the waves, our shining city on a hill, and lead us boldly into greatness, the pages of history, and the light beyond the sunrise that heralds the birth of a brand new day.
I choose greatness.
I choose to be an American.
Amen!
Works for me!!! I cast my vote this coming Saturday!!!
