"many of" does not mean Kenneth J. Campbell.

"Sinclair has contended that the program is news and has invited Kerry to appear on a post-broadcast program. Kerry has declined."

I love these two lines.

Kenneth J. Campbell, now a professor at the University of Delaware

I hope this guy isn't a law professor!

Who has Kenneth J. Campbell contributed to this election cycle?

Desperation time. This is the best the Kerrites can do to try and stop this from happening-and, believe me, the Dem's don't want this production aired even though they would not complain one iota should Michael Moore's "Fareheit 911" or numerous anti-Bush specials on the Sundance Channel air over and over again before the election...

I doubt if this guy is a law professor to file this suit. Libel is very specific--meaning an actual name is given with proven false information attached to it and the alleged libeled party can prove a loss of income because of it. This professor is probably a hero to the liberal college administration and will get a raise and guarantee of job if he ain't already tenured...

Thin case. Nice strategy though. By running to the courthouse and getting the libel case on file before the show runs on Sinclair, Sinclair will have to pony up for some legal fees if they want to show it. Nice move by the democrats. Wonder how hard they had to beat this guy with a rubber hose to get him to agree to sue. Sinclair now has an excuse not to run the show, should they get wobbly.

Here's his mini-resume at the Univ of Delaware:

MILITARY SERVICE USMC, 1967-1970; artillery forward observer, Vietnam, 1968-1969; honorable discharge.

Seems like this guy may be one of the minority of 'real vets' who were active in the VVAW. Producers should have been possibly more focused on capturing footage of those that were clearly not real vet's ...

Ken Campbell was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Upon graduating from high school in 1967, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served as an artillery forward observer with a rifle company in Vietnam from February 1968 to March 1969. After his discharge he joined the Vietnam Veterans Against the War. In 1975, he received a B.A. in history from Temple University. In 1985, he received an M.A. in political science, and in 1989 a Ph.D. in political science from Temple University.

Turn the tables a bit...

Imagine a film showing GW in National Guard uniform standing in front of his plane, with narration stating that "many of the men in the National Guard joined the National Guard specifically to avoid serving in Viet Nam."

What would the typical freepers reaction be?

/devils advocate

I'm guessing that there would be angry denunciations.

Simple, they invite Kenneth J. Campbell to talk on the show.

I agree with your analyses. But consider if they've filed in a court with a supportive activist judge who issues an injunction against the broadcast.

I would hope Sinclair would "just say no."

(A constitutional crisis isn't the problem, it's the solution).

Any suit would have to be against Red White and Blue productions, not Sinclair, I would think.

I don't think Campbell ever discredited those who never served in Vietnam, in fact, he probably went along with it, which makes him a conspirator.

Yes, and on the university's page it lists one of his specialties a global governance. Maybe one of the founding fathers of kool-aid drinkers.

Can't Sinclair's or Sherwood's file for a dismissal on lack of standing if this idiot isn't named personally by the story?

Does the good professor understand the subtle difference in meaning between the words "all" and "many"?
