John Stafford, Duval County's Supervisor Of Elections, has sent a letter to the Governor saying he was resigning for medical reasons effective today.

I've been reading the statutes and I'm guessing that Carlberg will remain in charge for the time being since he has been running things while Stafford was out sick.
The Elections Supervisors are elected so I would think that there will have to be an election to vote for a replacement. However, it doesn't appear clear to me from what I've read when this might take place. It should be in a year that's a multiple of 4, so this year, but it's a bit late

Once again, the laws are probably on the books to prevent the lunacy. It's simply a matter of getting someone to impliment the laws!
