PHILADELPHIA (AP) A Vietnam veteran shown in a documentary criticizing Sen. John Kerry's anti-war activities filed a libel lawsuit against the movie's director Monday, saying the film falsely calls him a fraud and a liar.
Kenneth J. Campbell, now a professor at the University of Delaware, said in the suit that "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal" combines footage of him appearing at a 1971 war protest with narration that claims that many of the supposed veterans who took part in the event were later "discovered as frauds" who "never set foot on the battlefield, or left the comfort of the States, or even served in uniform."
The suit said viewers would be left with the perception that Campbell had lied about his military service.
Campbell attached copies of his military records to the suit, showing that he received the Purple Heart medal and eight other medals, ribbons and decorations for his service as an artillery forward observer in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969.

These guys will try ANYTHING to stop the airing of this documentary.
Maybe all the Vietnam vets can sue Kerry for libel since he labelled them all war criminals.
I don't see this going anywhere.
The "possibility" someone "may" "misinterpret" doesn't exactly mean libel. In fact the narration is truth and if it doesn't mention Campbell specifically............
It's all on tape, so it should be easy to determine the "truth". My oh my, the trial lawyers have snagged their first Vet. Why am I not surprised.
He's a college professor. 'Nuff said.
This may be fantastic news. A question to the attorneys on the site. In discovery on this case, can the defendants ask for Kerry's complete record to be released? What are the chances of this succeeding?
Who'da thunk it?
I think that the mere fact these guys were out in public speaking against the Vietnam War makes them "public figures" and open game for criticism. They became political, so let them suffer the same criticism politicians get when they "fudge the facts".
Hmmm, I bet this guy had no problem with Farenheit 9/11.
I'm with you!!!!!!!!
I wonder if the Per-fesser was one of those anti-war Vets who tossed their medals and ribbons over the White House fence like Skerry did.
Instead of producing his military "records" lets see if the Per-fessor can produce his ACTUAL medals and ribbons...
Heh heh....
narration that claims that many of the supposed veterans
This wording said Many and did not single cambell out I dont see where he was Libaled--maybe as a veteran he should have stayed away from an antiwar protest!!!
As long as the voice over refers to many of the veterans, etc., and does not specifically single out the professor I do not see that he has a case. Of course a liberal judge could rule otherwise.
thanks to this guy for extra PR for the movie. Good for another couple of hundred thousand viewers.
Did they mention him by name? This is a news documentary. I love this hypocritical MSM.
I understand the point of the scare tactics, but if stockholders and affiliates haven't been scared away yet, I don't see this doing it either.
