Well, illegal aliens are here illegally, they are breaking the law, and that makes them criminals as far as I'm concerned.

I don't care what Elie Wiesel or Ms. Hinojosa has to say about the matter.

If wanting folks to obey the rule of law and have respect for our immigration system. Control who enters my country. Not wanting to spend BILLIONS of dollars on "illegal" when my own mother is looking at losing her house because of medical expenses which are high- in part of which is because she is ofsetting the cost of these "illegal thieve's" who use emergency rooms for doctor's office's makes me a Nazi--"wunderbar--Ich bin ein Nazi".

Are illegal workers stealing jobs and destroying the fabric of American society?

She's not interviewing Ralph Nader? He agrees that the "tolerance" is a wage depressing policy. As for the "fabric", no, but so what?

Will we hear from the ADL about Hinojosa's proposition or will they let it slide?

The issue of the rule of law is lost on a lot people. When respect for the law is eroded because some people (including some Republicans in this case) do not like the law, the consequences down the road are ultimately catastrophic. The rule-of-law is one of the top three or four things that have made this country great.

Immigration needs to be discussed in all its aspects soon (after this election). It has ramifications for security, the economy, the rule of law, the future make-up of the political culture of this nation, social security and other entitlements etc...If some people do not like the law, let them try to change it. The majority in this country wants less immigration.

Immigation is festering problem that cannot be ignored any longer. The French ignored their immigration problem for a long time They now have a mess on their hands, and ended up with a fascist (LePen) as the second vote-getter in their last presidential election.

The Gulfstream jetset sees just as much luxury in Calcutta or Beverly Hills. They really don't care if America becomes a 3rd world country, as long as the lawns in their gated and fortified communities are lush and green.

I'm watching in now Asa Hutchinson is on and trying to explain the lack of enforcement. She brought Asa on right after an American said "where's my homeland security?"

Made me chuckle.

Turned it on late but seems very pro-alien. She has only talked to 2 white guys for the anti-alien pov. They were middle-aged and a bit overweight. The guy she's talking to the most isn't a very effective speaker but he is raising some good points. On the whole it's not as bad as I guessed but it's bad.

At the end she talked about how determined the Mexicans are and how hopeless it is to stop them. In my opinion I thought she at least attempted to round out the argument with some opposing views, but it was done in a mostly liberal fashion. All of the aliens were good hard working folk who pay taxes and love America while the Americans were portrayed as either alien approving or reactionary and ineffectual.

On the whole it's an excellent example of why CNN is losing viewers.

I noticed the compassion and crocodile tears Maria Hinojosa, CNN, and Asa Hutchinson have for the plight of the illegals. However, I did not hear one word of compassion for those who are waiting years to come here legally. They don't hear or care when my Russian wife cries at night, because it is taking years for her daughter and grandson to come here legally. I served my country in the Special Forces for 6 years, and our government will not even allow my stepdaughter and her son to visit. We have to spend our savings on travel back and forth between here and Russia whenever there is a problem there. Quite frankly I don't think very much of their false compassion.

They forgot to mention that 35% of our prison population are illegal immigrants. I wonder why they like to keep that figure hidden.

As this is written (in September, 2004):
1. We have over 15 MILLION illegal aliens in this country.
2. Another 3 MILLION pour over our “borders” each year.
3. Another 1.3 MILLION arrive legally.
4. Assuming these rates of increase do not rise – a tenuous assumption at best – our population will rise by an added 200 MILLION in less than 50 years.
5. Our current LEGAL citizen birth rate is level at approximately 2.3 per, just about a legal population replacement level.

If unchecked, our kids will not inherit the America many of us did: They will inherit an America more closely resembling the Third World disasters most of these illegals left behind. They are bringing – have BROUGHT -- that disaster here!

WHAT YOU CAN (MUST) DO – NOW!!

1. Write President Bush at president@whitehouse.gov , fax him at 202-456-2461 or call him at 202-456-1414 and DEMAND that he deport 13 million illegal aliens and ENFORCE OUR CURRENT, ON THE BOOKS NOW IMMIGRATION LAWS!
2. Contact YOUR Congressman and Senators and tell them that you’re mad as hell and won’t take it any more – ESPECIALLY since the 9/11 attack by 19 aliens – 18 OF WHOM WERE HERE ILLEGALLY! Go to their periodic town hall meetings and let them – and the OTHER citizens there – know that it’s time to move on this critical issue. BE SURE TO TELL YOUR SENATORS THAT YOU ARE STRONGLY IN FAVOR OF THE HOUSE VERSION OF H.R.10 (IMPLEMENTING THE 9/11 COMMISSION FINDINGS) AND DO NOT SUPPORT THE WATERED DOWN SENATE VERSION.

3. Call Border Patrol head Asa Hutchinson at 202-282-8355 and DEMAND that his people maintain sweeps and continue rigorous enforcement by arresting illegal aliens – AND their employers!

5. Support organizations that enable impoverished people around the world to STAY in their own communities (where most of them would RATHER be) where they can create a decent living through entrepreneurship, training and seed money to start home grown businesses. 6. Support organizations that provide family planning resources and knowledge so that couples might have fewer children and provide a better life for their smaller families.
7. Support the call for a 10 YEAR MORATORIUM on ALL immigration so we can assimilate those already now here LEGALLY. After the moratorium, we must limit LEGAL immigration to 100,000 per year – and they MUST SPEAK ENGLISH BEFORE COMING HERE!
8. Speak out on the radio talk shows and write letters-to-the-editor on the subject – ESPECIALLY in rebuttal to stories and letters from the opposition.
