LOL, I still think it's bogus! How did he end up against a pole if he got tangled in sagging lines? Shouldn't he be in the middle somewhere?

When the line is tightened it also moves laterally. So if he started in the middle, he probably was pulled up against the pole.
To bad the stupid photographer couldn't get a better picture.

If he got tangled in the middle, he would have been halled with the line toward the winch that was hauling up the line.

I dunno know. It's insane, isn't it? You're going happily along for millions of years, evolving these great big horns that can knock things down and intimidate everybody and everything in sight, when . . . BOOM! . . . Somebody suddenly goes out and invents wire! :-)

Any relation to a post turtle?
While suturing a laceration on the hand of an 80-year-old grizzled Texas rancher, a doctor and the old Texan were talking about the possibility of John Kerry being in the White House.
The old Texan said, "Well ya know, Kerry's one of them 'Post Turtles'."
Not knowing what the old man meant the Doctor asked him what a "Post Turtle" was. The old man said, "Well, when you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a "Post Turtle".
The old man saw a puzzled look on the doc's face so he continued to explain, "You know he didn't get there by himself, he doesn't belong there, he can't get anything done while he is up there, and you just want to help the poor dumb bastard get down afore he hurts hisself."

They slick up the wire with cheese, that's what probably
attracted the moose.
Not a very fat moose, kind of wiry.
