I am calling for a full Post 47 treatment of this story.  Who are these folks (both the mutineers and the stateside mouthpieces)?  What are their connections to the Democrats in general and to the extreme left and the Kerry campaign in particular?  Who are the folks pushing this and, very importantly, are they working from a recognizable script?  Do they use common phrases or references that are just a bit too coincidental.

Those with contacts at sites like Powerline or in the free press, feed anything good on this to the folks who can trumpet it properly.  But to be effective, if there is anything here, it needs to be done quickly.  I'm calling on those who are here, this brain trust, to find out if this is a set up and, if so, scream it from the roof tops.  If this is an organized plot to incite a mutiny in time of war, that folks, is treason.

We agree this is a setup.

In church this morning, an elderly woman stood up during the prayer requests and announced that her great grandniece is one of the 17 reservists (her sister's granddaughter). The reservist's name is Amber and her mother is supposed to be on the Today show Monday or Tuesday.

The elderly woman said the 17 reservists had just attempted to deliver fuel to another base. The fuel delivery was refused because it was contaminated. Upon their return to their base, they were told to make another fuel delivery to another base. The reservists allegedly refused. She said their equipment was old and they would have to travel through a hot spot. She also said that they were held under armed guard despite news reports to the contrary. She said she was there to tell the rest of the story.

Did anyone else get to hear a similar story in their church today? Our belief is we got to hear the DNC talking points in church today.

I think we all need to calm down. What a conspiracy theory requires is that somebody political convinced the five instigators to lead a mutiny in wartime so that the Democrats might win the election, after which (if they did win) they could arrange to pardon the mutineers and otherwise reward them.

Any potential mutineer who'd buy that would get excited over an email from Nigeria. Do we really think our troops are that dumb?

I don't know if anyone has posted this, but there is a big difference between http://www.citizensoldier.org and http://www.citizen-soldier.org . I assume the hyphenated on is the one that has Kerry's former buddies in charge.

Democrat Party = security threat from specialist to General.. from copy boy/girl to Editor, from janitor to professor, from civil servant to elected offical...

Even Zell Miller carried water for Bill Clinton for two terms.. and should be watched closely.. you can take the dimocrat from the party but it's almost impossible to remove the dimocrat from the dumbocrat... spending any significant amount of time in the dimocrat party shows you could care less about America.. almost ALL neo-cons are ex-dimocrats..

Theres a civil war brewing, if not, there SHOULD BE...

Democracy is the road to socialism. Karl Marx

Democracy is indispensable to socialism. The goal of socialism is communism. V.I. Lenin

The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism.- Karl Marx

"The fuel was contaminated for the helicopters," Casey said his grandson told him. "It would have caused them to crash. ... They saved lives."

This is total B.S. This guy is in maintenance. He knows better! Any mechanic will tell you all of these vehicles have fuel filters. Anyone who has ever worked with diesel (which is very close to jet fuel or kerosene) knows water is commonly filtered out. If there is too much water the vehicle will "run out of gas". This would happen before take-off if it is "contaminated" to the extent he seems to be eluding to. Also if it had been rejected before it is more than likely they did not have the means to filter it at that particular installation. Perhaps they did have the capability where they were ordered to deliver it. I doubt it was throw-away, that makes no sense.

This is interesting. If true, this is the closest thing to a military coup that we've had in the United States (with soldiers deliberately playing partisan politics in an effort to unseat a sitting president). Let's hope it is as close as we ever get.

When freedom ceases to be maintained by the uniformed professional soldier, it must be restored by the citizen-soldier. Usually this occurs at great cost.

So are you saying that the mutiny never happened? What about the arrest of the mutineers? What about the soldiers' relatives?

Interesting.

I remember reading in all the information that has come out through the Swifties, that the VVAW had a similar plot as one of their plans.

Some of the members of VVAW proposed urging soldiers in VN to refuse orders. Not sure how far it went.

Must be a leftist tactic.

Folks, this is a set up.

I don’t know if it is a set up or just a case of the Hanoi John faction taking advantage of an incident.

The only thing I was suspicious about was the phone call home from a young woman purporting to be among those who had refused her orders, and which the media played over and over. Right after that, some dem congresscritter came on purporting to have received a message about the incident, and I just assumed it was from the woman's mother.

Remember this .. some people join the National Guard because the duty is easy - even though the training is good - and it supplies money for people to go to school. This is a great program .. but some people get into it with the idea they get a free education .. and they don't have to give anything back. But .. when their country calls, the parents and the child are in shock - the parents hate Bush for taking their child away.

While I'm not sure these actions in Iraq were pre-planned .. I'm quite sure the dems will do most anything to distract from Kerry's recent gaffes - and by calling for an investigation - it gives the dems another opportunity to preen in front of the camera and call the Bush admin names. What could be better than that.
