"we won the war but gave up politically. " In a couple weeks we'll see if history repeats itself. That's about the most concise summary I have ever seen. Kudos.

Kerry claimed at the time, and we have it on film, that he threw away his medals--eight or nine according to him. In 1985 Kerry requested replacement citations/certificates for his Silver Star, Bronze Star, and three PHs. No one knows if Kerry received replacement medals as well. In 2004, Kerry claimed on Good Morning America that he threw away his ribbons and someone else's medals. When confronted with this inconsistency, Kerry told Charles Gibson that everyone knows that ribbons and medals are interchangeable.
I suspect that this George Butler film is meant to substantiate the ribbon story. Butler helped edit Kerry's book, The New Soldier, so he has been a Kerry co-conspirator ever since 1971. I believe that Kerry did throw away his medals in 1971 and is lying abut it now. Someone needs to ask the Navy if Kerry was also issued replacement medals in 1985. Since the Navy provided Judicial Watch with copies of the replacement certificates, I don't know why the Navy would be averse to responding to this question.
