Miners can start at $40,000 to $50,000 but can make as much as $100,000 if they work all available overtime.

No offense to any miners, but I've had relatives work in the mines. You earn every dime you make. It's hard, dirty, dangerous work. No wonder there is a shortage of workers.

My Great Grandfather settled in Dickson City, Pennsylvania in the 1910s to work in the Anthracite coal mines there. I still have the gas-lamp he used down there. Unfortunatly, he died of the "black lung" when my grandmother was only 7.
