Meet the "Fellowship for Reconciliation"
Fellowship for Reconciliation ^

Posted on 10/16/2004 3:02:08 PM PDT by freespirited

I first learned about this organization from Powerline, which featured a comment and photo of some Minnesota participants in its photo project. The organization urges Americans to photograph themselves holding a message apologizing to Iraqis for the war. The photos are then distributed in Iraq--as Powerline points out, to undermine our efforts (and presumably demoralize our troops.)

Here is a list of suggested messages to put on the poster when photographing yourself.

We apologize for the torture and deaths of Iraqis at the hands of our government

We weep for the innocent Iraqi people who suffer under American occupation

We are mortified about the suffering inflicted on the Iraqi people in our name

We ask forgiveness from the Iraqi people for not being able to stop the invasion of their land

We apologize from our hearts for the pain and humiliation our country is causing the Iraqi people

We Americans are profoundly ashamed of what our government has done to Iraq

We Americans apologize from our hearts for the deaths of so many Iraqi people

Our hearts overflow with tears for the suffering of the Iraqi people

With deep shame, we apologize for the torture, injuries and deaths of Iraqi prisoners

We are filled with shame for the suffering our fellow countrymen have brought to Iraq

Our hearts ache at the destruction and suffering Americans have brought the people of Iraq

We are sorry from the depth of our hearts for the pain our country has caused the Iraqi people

There is quite a collection of these photos at the website--if anyone with better HTML skills than me would like to pick a few and post them here.

I wish these people had the balls to go to Iraq before we invaded--a kind of pre-emptive apology. Yeah. They should have stood very close to military outposts as our planes were coming over the horizon... :)

"Our hearts overflow with tears"

That says it all. That's all liberals are good for: "weeping," "tears," "sorrow," etc. etc. Barf. They don't actually do a damned thing, just weep. Useless bastards.

We apologize for waiting so long to remove Hussein.

We apologize for playing with the U.N. while Hussein murdered your citizens.

We apologize for allowing France and the U.N. to conspire to help Hussein steal your nations wealth.

We apologize for listening to enviroweenies complain about shutting off a water leak that supports mud-puddle life while ignoring Hussein turning the southern fifth of your country from a vibrant marsh to a barren dust-bowl.

We apologize for giving any heed whatsoever to leftists.

"Our hearts overflow with tears"

Sure. These are the same collection of loser and anti-American bigots that ran around after 9-11 screaming about how we DESERVED it. They all joke around about what they are going to do when the "Revolution" comes. They, and the rest of the Hysteric Left, had BETTER be praying the gloves NEVER come off. They wouldn't last 5 minutes in a Saddam's Iraq or a Taliban Afghanistan. These people are the willing propaganda mouth pieces for every mass murderer and thug in the world. I would trade any nation THESE A@@ clown's for the illegals who pour into our country. At least the Illegals are GRATEFUL for what America has given them.

Perhaps while these morons are stumbling around the internet they could read a similr posting from Iraqi's thanking America for their new freedom. Communication can go two ways!

Untold Stories from Iraq

I was born and raised in Kirkuk until I attended the University of Mosul. After graduating, I went back to Kirkuk, but under Saddam it was very difficult to live there. Saddam and the Ba'athist Party made it impossible for Kurds to live in Kirkuk. It was not possible to be comfortable under his regime because he hated the Kurds. There were many laws against us. We could not find work, we could not register with our Kurdish names, we could not give our children Kurdish names, and we were afraid for our
safety....

Iraqis want elections without delay.
In a recent poll 80.5% of Iraqis showed that they want elections to be held at time without any delay. The poll that was conducted by Al Sabah center for public opinion studies showed also that 15% were with delaying the elections while 4% did not have any opinion.

The poll took the opinions of 850 citizens of Baghdad from different ethnic, social and religious groups who were selected according to the simple random sample method. 40% of those were women.
Among those who favored delaying the elections 3% wanted the elections to be delayed for 6 months, 8% demanded a postponement for 1 year or more while 4% didn’t specify a ....

Damn you terrorists . . .
Yes, damn you, you sick pathetic people -- if you deserve to be called people -- damn you pieces of shit, damn you for what you are doing. What are you trying to do? Killing and killing and murdering and kidnapping destroys families' lives, killing children, and for what? I'll tell you for what: just because and simply that you are sick people.Damn you, what have you done for humanity? What you did for us, for Iraqis, you killed more of us than the war did; and what did you win? Nothing, because you are always losers, and losers and you will stay; losers, you were born to be losers, with thick minds, caring for nothing, never accepting anything .Iraq is our, Iraq is my, country; Iraq is mine, I will never leave it, we will never give up, we will stand against you, we will do anything we can, we will build, we will learn, we will live, we will dream .This is what we will do .I know what you want to do instead:- you want to kill, and kidnap, and make our lives miserable, and to take our lovers. But we will never, ever, let you to do that, we will stand against you, with all that we've got, and with all of our good friends who will stand to help us.We will be the spotlight on your dark life and darkness, we will be the knife in your heart, if you have one; we will be the loud voice of reason and thought, we will win, you will lose, because you are losers.I will write and write and work and do, I am a new man, I am no longer a slave, I am a true human. That’s what I learned lately, and I will stay this way, am going nowhere, I am here forever, I am here for my country, for my people,

Do they grieve for what Saddam did to his own people?

And what about the troops? It takes no courage to hold up a dumb sign when you are safe and comfortable here at home and not face to face with the U.S. soldiers putting their lives on the line in the war conditions overseas.

When I was in the Fellowship, it was from a no war religious perspective. This seems to be from a political perspective that I don't recall.

We're sorry American soldiers are dying for your freedom.
We're sorry American soldiers are rebuilding your country to a state it has never experienced before.
We're sorry American soldiers have rebuilt your schools, so your kids can learn something other than pulling a trigger.
We're sorry America is sending billions of dollars to help out a country that has never supported us in the past.
We're sorry America has to do what so many other countries in the world will not.
We're sorry America is hated all over the world, much of which we freed from tyrannies of their own.
We're sorry America doesn't want to drop our pants in the cold international breeze, just to get our a$$ kicked.
We're sorry America has a strong President, who won't let our enemies gather in the bushes to hit us again, when we're not looking.
We're sorry America tolerates Islam, though the reverse doesn't seem to be true.
We're sorry American technology is making your lives better.
We're sorry America has freed countries all over the world, but hasn't kept any of them for our own.
Therefore, if you'd like us to act differently, let us know.
