"John" is so far superior to "Tom" it is not even funny. How any "Republican" could vote for "Tom" I cannot even imagine! How selfish for pork and influence one has to be to vote for Bush and "Tom." Come on SD, show the rest of the nation how decent you really are!

I don't really bother much with knowing democrat voting records, but who is the least liberal of Reid and Dodd? I would imagine Reid simply because he's from the West rather than the Northeast.....

I came into some extra $$$ recently via doing some shooting instruction. It came to me that I wouldn't have that opportunity if Daschle had his way. Made parting with that money a lot easier.

What do the polls like like in this race right now? I salivate at the prospect of punting "Puff" Daschle out of the Senate, but I didn't think Thune had that much of a chance and he was behind in the last poll I heard.
As for the thumb-pointing thing...I don't think it started with Clinton. I think I've seen some old footage of Robert Kennedy doing it. It's annoying as all get-out, that's for sure.

So, what's the scoop on this election? Haven't been following it, searched and this was the only thread. Will we finally be rid of Little Tommy?

It's confusing to me too but it seems like although they are Conservative Republicans, since their state is so small they value highly the pork dollars and influence that Senator "Tom" brings them. Without Dashole they would get no special attention and less federal dollars. While they disagree with most of what "Tom" stands for, he brings them prestige and $$$$. Bush and the Pubbies should play hardball and make it clear that if they do not elect "John" they will be shut out of federal projects no matter if "Tom" remains leader. In short thus far South Dakota majority Republicans have put monetary self interest above all else. I am hopeful they will not do this in this election.
Is anybody else still tuning into C-Span 2 and watching the Washington Senatorial debate? Nethercutt looks great and Patty Murray is coming off as the dunce she is. How in the world could anyone support this idiot???

Dasshole keeps saying he is a leader when So. Dak. made him a senator the dems made him a leader. He spends his time representing the dems not So.Dak.

If you could hear Murray's radio ad where she says, "When it comes to winning the war on terror, I take a back seat to
noone," you'd swear you were listening to Shirley Temple. I can almost hear her breaking into, "Animal crackers in my soup..."
Lord, please rid us of this idiot in the Senate.
To: Hildy
Latest Rasmussen poll has it tied at either 48 or 49 each.
Not sure if there are any other recent polls.

Yeah, I was watching the Nethercutt/Murray debate for a while. Honestly, I don't know much about either of these candidates. But Murray seems like she'd be better suited to work as a secretary in a high school principal's office. She just doesn't seem "Senatorial" to me.

Thune wiped the stage with Daschle. Watching the end of it, now. I'm sure Senator Daschle is deeply sad....

Too bad Thune didn't. He was pretty off the mark, didn't touch Daschel, and in the end, it was pretty clear that Daschel has still got it. It's ok, he does do a lot for South Dakota.
