Dramatic development in the fight for the Right to Life and the standing of pro-abortion Catholic politicians.
Today, in EWTN's news magazine The World Over, canon lawyer Marc Balestrieri revealed that the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has certified that the Church's condemnation of abortion is part of Catholic doctrine and of natural law, and as such, any one who publicly contradicts this doctrine is guilty of heresy and incurrs an automatic excommunication.

Earlier this year, Marc Balestrieri filed a heresy lawsuit against Senator John F. Kerry for his public and obstinate support of abortion rights. This lawsuit remains active in the tribunal of the Archdiocese of Boston. Today, Mr. Balestrieri announced in the same program that he will file new charges against the most egregious offenders, including Senator Ted Kennedy (D-Mass) and Susan Collins (R-Maine), whose pro-abortion voting record is well known.

He said that Mr. Kerry is a formal heretic, not that he has been formally excommunicated.

Not observant Catholics; they tend to vote Republican, mostly because of prolife and other cultural issues.
Of course. Any Catholic who publicly promotes something that is a clear violation of Church doctrine is committing heresy.
The idea that Kerry was citing scripture on "faith without works is dead" while attempting to justify his political position on abortion is so stupid it's beyond comprehension.
The Catholic vote is the fundamental source of power for all the big city RAT machines and have dominated them for close to 200 yrs. If that vote can be captured the RAT party is dead.
However, it has been bought off through corruption all that time and I have no real hope that will change without legal actions by the fedgov.

This is a critical issue, well beyond the average electoral fight. The battle is joined. Good and Evil are locked in moral combat. I asked in small jest, I pray in earnest.
Kerry doesn't need to worry, he can always become an E-swish-copalian. Bishop Robinson will give him communion. All Kerry has to do is bend over!

If I had to defend lurch, I would couch my defense in these terms: "he DID believe it is always gravely immoral (except in self-defense of the mother...life of the mother), but he would not impose that view on others."

Again, the emphasis is on "observant." Catholics who do not attend Mass regularly or who otherwise dissent from the Church are a different animal.
He has publicly taken "communion" from the AME Church Priestess.

No what I meant is that in 1992 the voter put aside his beliefs and voted for the economy. Didn't care what Clinton did or said. and again in 96. Just like now. I hear people say "well I'm worried about my job or economy so I'm voting for Kerry" when as a Christian they should vote for Pro-life people etc. Is that clearer?
