"While other states pursue high-tech voting machines in hopes of avoiding a repeat of the Florida fiasco of 2000, Oregon proudly continues with its uniquely low-tech system of voting by mail.
Oregon abolished polling-place elections in 1998. The result is that Election Day 2004 in Oregon will actually be a 19-day affair that begins Friday with 2 million ballots being sent to the homes of registered voters. "
I think it is very possible. Living in WA state around all these libs, I firmly believe it is ignorance, not evil - that steers there votes to the left. Maybe OR has become enlightened??? :)
Wu is up because he was reported to have been disciplined in College for assault and attempted rape of some sort. He then admitted it on TV. So romantic, and abusive... just like Clintong.
that stuff seemingly goes over vell with the dems here in Oregon... big time.
Gore won Oregon by 6,735 votes in 2000 (from memory...could be off by a few).
JK third debate Gaffe is worse then Fords(POLAND) the polls will keep falling and the end is near for jk
oh by the way a little sinclair truth can only help

Riley Research Associates is a Marketing, Research and Public Relations firm been in Business 20years. Based out of Portland one of 4 organizations that do regular polling in Oregon for local and national elections
Goli Ameri was endorsed by the Oregonian, BTW.
I think I like that idea. Wonder how fraud is affected by this system.
Do you have a source for all of that good news?
A non-Mars source, that is. :)
Gore 47.1% Bush 46.6% Nader 5.1% - 2000
I agree. The mathematical advantage for Bush may be too much for Kerry to overcome.
Well well well now we know why the President was here yesterday instead of in Ohio or wherever it was someone last night was shreiking that he should be instead of in Oregon:)hehe. I know we can give Oregon to the President this year I just feel it in my bones!!!! GO W!!!
I'm glad Bush went there yesterday, they vote by mail and early in Oregon, so many people are voting right now.
While Bush captures 87 percent of Republicans, Kerry gets just 80 percent of Democrats, and splits the votes of the independent and minority party candidates.
Bush captures 54 percent of men (vs. 43% of women), while Kerry gets a higher percent of women (48%), but only 37 percent of the men.
While the youngest voters strongly favor Kerry (54%), seniors are somewhat divided: those recently retired (65-74) strongly favor Bush (54% vs. 39%), while those over 75 are mixed (45% Bush, 43% Kerry).
Yes, there are a lot of conservative KA's moving here, the problem is that there's just as many loonies setting up house locally and bringing their lib tunes with them......
"More good new [sic] in the poles [sic] coming out tomarrow [sic]. Bush is pulling way [sic] in Nevada, New Mexico, Fl, Maine and New hampshire.
Bush is even in NJ, MD and close in NY."
Ameri goes after Wu in debate
The debate got very personal when the GOP candidate brought up sexual misconduct allegations.
She had nothing to say at first, but had plenty to say at a Congressional debate Friday. Goli Ameri blasted Congressman David Wu, responding to the Oregonian's story about Wu's sexual misconduct while a student at Stanford University.
"Members of Congress are elected to protect their constituents' rights. What message are we sending if we elect someone who has violated a woman's most fundamental human right for safety and security?"
In the front page story, a former girlfriend claimed Wu tried to force her to have sex with him. Wu has admitted to inexcusable behavior.
"I was very sorry then, I've been sorry since and I'm sorry now," said Wu in response.
Wu said it's unfortunate that Ameri brought this personal matter up during the debate. He had hoped would focus on the issues.
I received my ballot today. I do not mail it in....I deliver it to the elections office on election day. Because of our crazy mail ballot law, they start opening ballots seven days prior to election day...and start COUNTING ballots in the morning on election day. However, Multnomah County figures are always released LAST. Possibility of shenanigans? You be the judge.
I think I was confusing former chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, Al Uhlman (D-Or)
