The Republican Governors Association planned to spend nearly $500,000 for television ads beginning Thursday in the state's three largest markets to help Republican gubernatorial candidate Patrick Ballantine, the Easley campaign said.
The State Board of Elections voted 3-2 along party lines Thursday to block the ads.

Federal injunctions are being sought, but you can see the hilarious ad right now.
Here is one of several spots where the video file is being mirrored.
THE ADVERTISEMENT FROM THE REPUBLICAN GOVERNORS ASSOCIATION
MIKE EASLEY DOES NOT WANT YOU TO SEE:
Who was it that said when the Internet encounters censorship, it treats it as interference, and routes around it?
Wow! I hope this makes the front page of every paper in NC. If people actually hear this, it'll be good for us.
Wow. That's quite an ad and it would be great if it ran. I guess the governor is a good dancer, huh? LOL
The effers should limbo for a living. There is no limit to how low they can go.
Ha Ha Ha Ha! The front page of The News & Observer. Ha Ha Ha!
Not going to happen.
The head of the State Board of Elections was appointed by none other than Mike Easley, the wretched excuse we have for a governor. Isn't it odd that Easly is running against Ballentine and the election board has voted to not run Ballentine's ads?
Good ole Tax Hike Mike.
Find a judge to overturn this conflict-of-interest ruling!
It KILLS me that the only prominent politician to share my last name is a bleedin LIBERAL !

What do THEY have to say about it? It's RNC money!
Don't feel bad - I'm a very distant relative of Senator Byrd of W. Virginia. Try carrying that baggage around.
Maybe someone can get this to Fox - they'll play it as part of a news story (probably along with the similar ad to show similarity and fairness and all that).
Yikes! Better you than me, as they say..LOL
Ought to make the debate tonight at 6pm rather heated, yes? Think Ballantine is going to let this pass? Or that he is going to nail Easley right between the eyes with it.
And here I was thinking Easley had it in a walk. Seems he's Nixon's spiritual grandchild in more ways than one (raising taxes being the other).
They have nothing to say about this -- the airwaves are interstate. Chandler wanted the board in Kentucky to block the RGA ads, but they said they had no authority to do so.
NC ping!!!
Funny, but I don't really find it that persuasive, because Ballantine's positions are just not that different from Easley's.
Ok, then don't vote for him.
"Wow! I hope this makes the front page of every paper in NC. If people actually hear this, it'll be good for us."...wont even make the back page...
