A senior Bush administration advisor said Friday that John Kerry should apologize to Vice President Cheney and his wife Lynne for outing their daughter as "a lesbian" on national TV.
"If he wants to get past [this controversy] as his campaign is saying he wants to, then he should just apologize and let's move on," Mary Matalin told NBC "Today Show" host Katie Couric.
"[Kerry] was using Mary [Cheney] as a political football here," Matalin complained. "She's a behind the scenes person. She's not the poster girl for gay issues. She doesn't talk to the press. She's not public. . . She is not fair game."
"It's just outrageous and it's over the line," Matalin said.
The top White House aide also complained about the wife of vice presidential wannabe John Edwards, who she said had added "insult to injury" by "going out and accusing Mrs. Cheney of being ashamed of her daughter."
"Who are these people?" Matalin said in disbelief.
I hope Matalin used 1 and 2 syllable words so as not to confuse Katie the moron.
I'm only half-joking--based on her public statements I'm guessing that Couric's IQ is in the 90's.
Let's be polite and say they are not people whom we should trust with the highest offices in the Republic ...
This is a good move. Demand they apologize.
Will NEVER happen. Kerry doesn't have the word sorry in his vocabulary. Just ask Vietnam Vets.
Mary Matalin is a senior Bush administration advisor?
Actually she's a Cheney advisor.
The campaign buffets have not been kind to Elizabeth Edwards.
right........
BWAHAHAHA... you left out the < sarcasm > tag.
Eliz Edwards was doing just exactly what in your opinion, then??????
Trolls used to be much more imaginative in their first posts. You guys must be really depressed by how inept Kerrey has revealed himself to be, eh?
John Kerry.
John Edwards.
Liz Edwards.
Mary Beth Cahill...
These are people for whom your serpent-headed husband works, Ms. Matalin!
And you are not being facetious or foolish ...
