I missed it. They went to Vietnam? Worse. They valued the word of Viet Cong communists over our own troops.

I sent Rush this e:mail last night along with the threads on here about it last night.
Rush -- On ABC's Nightline, on Thursday, they did a hit piece on John O'Neil. The Nightline crew traveled to Vietnam to the exact place where Kerry shot the guy in the back and earned a Silver Star. This incident happened on February 28, 1969. They interviewed the peasants. One woman's husband died that day, but while she was shown at his gravesite, his date of death is listed as 12.1.69. That is not February 28, 1969. Also, the peasants interviewed said that there was a lot of enemy around. However, in Kerry's bio, Tour of Duty as well as the Boston Globe's book about Kerry, it states there was only one enemy....the man that Kerry killed. Nightline, in their zest to nail John O'Neill, actually nailed Kerry. Nightline's story contradicts Kerry's own versions in Tour of Duty and the Boston Globe story. This means that Kerry lied in his after action reports and the books...according to the peasants. Try to watch this segment. O'Neil lets Koppel have it. He ends with, "You've been had Ted".

I was a small child when Vietnam ended, so I missed most of the anti-war sentiment at the time, even being raised by a flower child.
I was appalled by the treatment of Mr O'Neill last night by Ted Koppel. It was like they were being spit on all over again. It was horrendous. We are making a contribution to the Swift Vets this afternoon AND buying their book. I've never been so offended by the media, and that's saying a LOT.

What could they have possibly found out by going to Vietnam other than Kerry's picture in a war museum?

I bet good money old Ted didn't mention Kerry's featured position in the Vietnam Communist Museum of Ultimate Devotion.

Just Damn.
These people really are that stupid. I thought that the DIMs and their enablers in the MSM finally figured out that anything to do with Vietnam is now poison for the Kerry campaign, thanks to the SwiftVets.
I guess Ted and the gang at Nightline didn't get the memo.

However, in Kerry's bio, Tour of Duty as well as the Boston Globe's book about Kerry, it states there was only one enemy....the man that Kerry killed. I didn't see any "big battle" going on in Kerry's home movie. He was calmly walking out of the "jungle" after shooting the fleeing Cong guy.
And, if there was a big battle going on and he beached his boat and left it, that would be a massive case of dereliction of duty, i.e. leaving his crew behind, unable to leave without their skipper.
