Why would someone's mother, on her death bead, gasping with her last breath, tell her son: "Integrity, Integrity, Integrity"? Think about it.
What would she have meant if she said, "Brush your teeth", brush your teeth, brush your teeth"?
Think she might have been trying to help her son correct a deficiency?
Yeah, weird, huh?
Because "Rosebud" and "Bosco" had already been done....:)
I'm wondering if it ever actually happened. It would be just like Kerry to make something like that up. The problem is that by mentioning it, the rest of us are saying the same thing...why would this be her last words to her son?
Poor woman is probably rolling in her grave...
His mother gave him this advice from her deathbed.
And still he doesn't take it to heart?
Do the sacrifices of another mean NOTHING to this person?
In a strange way, John Kerry does show a certain degree of integrity, in that he does not violate any of the postulates and axioms of the universe in which he lives. Just that most of the rest of us do not inhabit the same universe.
Don't forget, sKerry said his wife and daughters keep him honest. Obviously, he didn't take the word to heart.
Because the last Democratic President had none.

I like it better in Deutsch like yours.

Because she knew her son didn't have any integrity. She was trying to remind him.
Read an article by Fineman...he says Kerry told him the same story many years ago.
So whether it's true, or not, he's been telling the same story for years.
John Kerry is very good on telling and retelling stories from years past. See how long he has held onto the repetition of his exploits in Viet Nam. I believe there are even some movie documentaries.
And if he repeats these things so readily, there must certainly be some element of truth involved, isn't there?
Isn't there?
Her obituary states she died at home - not in a hospital. What I find to be amusing about this is that at the time she would have made this utterance, her son was in the U.S. Senate for some 20 years. What? intergrity not important when you're in the Senate, only important when you want to be President?
Perhaps she was telling her idiot son to come clean about Vietnam. I am willing to bet you he didn't visit her at all and instead just spun up this lame story to make the rounds with his political crowd.
The quote Kerry attributes to his mom is actually from one of his Swiftboat guys, Rassmann. There is a FR thread from yesterday on this topic.
Yep:
Kerry's mother revealed

Read more at blogsforbush.com ... A Blogs For Bush reader has informed me of something quite interesting about a story John Kerry told last night at the debate.
When asked about what he's learned from the strong women in his life, Kerry made a point to shift his answer from discussing Teresa and his daughters to telling a story about his late mother: Can I say, if I could just say a word about a woman that you didn't ask about, but my mom passed away a couple years ago, just before I was deciding to run, and she was in the hospital and I went in to talk to her and tell her what I was thinking of doing. And she looked at me from her hospital bed and she just looked at me and she said, "Remember, integrity, integrity, integrity." Those are the three words that she left me with. Did that at all sound familiar to you? It did to me, but I couldn't figure it out... Well, here's why it is familiar. Vietnam veteran John Rassman, who joined Kerry on the campaign trail earlier this year, said something remarkably similar ... or should I say identical: After serving with John Kerry, a veteran says Kerry is better suited to serve in the White House. Jim Rassman was in Eau Claire on Tuesday to campaign for Kerry. Rassman says Kerry saved his life when he pulled him out of a river during a battle in Vietnam. Rassman says he voted for Bush in 2000, but says he doesn't plan to back the President this time around. "There are three character traits John has that George Bush does not have and they are integrity, integrity, integrity. I trust John Kerry implicitly. I don't trust a thing George Bush tells me," said Rassman. Is John Kerry so lacking in integrity that he actually borroed Rassman's quote and falsely attribute it to his own dying mother to make a political statement? Is there anything John Kerry won't do to influence voters? Posted by Matt at 12:35 PM
