Persuadable voters watching the presidential debates tended to give higher marks to Democrat John Kerry than President Bush, but many sound reluctant to make a final decision in the presidential race

You can just sense the anguish coming from the AP reporter as he wrote that line...

Michele Janka, 53, of Great Falls, Va., said she was leaning toward Kerry but now she's undecided again because "Kerry has too many big spending plans."

Very Good, Michele.

There's not a voter alive who can accurately
describe ANY of Kerry's plans. Not one.

The AP does a lot of this reporting based on anecdote in which they report a trend out of their wishful thinking and support it with a few select quotes or anecdotes. Then they include one opposing quote/anecdote, so that the bias isn't overwhelmingly apparent.

The AP is just propaganda to influence the media's focus. It's incredible.

--- Feith? Neo-con conspracies... No way this woman is persuadable at all.

"If President Bush would fire Mr. (Paul) Wolfowitz and Mr. (Douglas) Feith, I would vote for him. They have hijacked his foreign policy," the businesswoman said, referring to Wolfowitz, the U.S. deputy secretary of defense, and Feith, the undersecretary of defense for policy.

Pshaw, that's easy. He plans to re-create "Camalot". It will be all about image. Beyond that, I haven't a clue. :o)

"Mr. (Douglas) Feith"

No one that knows that name is persuadable. No one.

You're not alone.
Kerry hasn't a clue either. :)

True, but I bet he already has the list of minions he'll hire to do all of the work.

"'I listen to Rush Limbaugh when I'm in my car,' [Dorothy Van Asdale] said... 'It's so negative. I never heard a good thing about Kerry.'"

Oh, well then, Dotty, by all means allow me to say something good about Kerry: He probably won't become President.

"In the debates, Kerry's intelligence came through. He just seemed really thoughtful," said Mindy Kershner of San Francisco, who is still not ready to commit. "I probably won't decide until I actually vote."

Those swing voters of San Francisco are going to decide the election. LOL

Lol, feel the grief and anguish.

Kerry is toast. My daughter called yesterday wanting to know if it was too late to register and vote. She and her bf watched the debate and decided that Kerry is a POS. If they're getting off their butts to vote for Bush, how many more will do the same?

Mary Kirschner from SF said I MAY NOT DECIDE UNTIL I ACTUALLY VOTE.

I dont know about anybody else, but I sure dont want to be in line behind her.

Its tough enough sometimes in my local grocery checkout line.

Twenty percent are really "undecided"! Give me a break, talking about making the undecideds more important than they really are.

For 83-year-old Dorothy Van Asdale, of Yuma, Ariz., the debates offered a firsthand look at a Democratic candidate she knew about mostly through the narrative of conservative radio commentator Rush Limbaugh.

"I listen to Rush Limbaugh when I'm in my car," she said. "We can only get one radio station really clear around here. It's so negative. I never heard a good thing about Kerry."

But when she tuned in to the presidential debates, she "liked Kerry's presence. I liked the way he spoke."

Rush got this lady on the line. She revealed that she voted for Gore in the last election and for Clinton in the prior two elections.

The shallowness of anyone who would vote for someone because he "looked presidential" is mind boggling. She will vote against Bush because she doesn't like his record on illegal immigration but admits she hasn't a clue what Kerry would do about it. Sheesh!
