So Fox agreed with Makris that O'Reilly would stop his lewdness with her before she went back to work for Fox? That smacks down one argument that's been going around in favor of crypto-lefty Bill.

And Makris and O'Reilly will live happily ever after once they've capitalized on the greatest publicity stunt of all time. This thing is so nutty I'm inclined to entertain any theories.

It doesn't say anything about Fox News management agreeing with her at all - it looks like she got the assurances from O'Reilly.

I would urge a lot of caution on these matters. People throw out comments, those comments get embellished and it's very difficult to know who is at fault.

I'm not a die-hard fan of O'Reilly, but he deserves his day in court just like anyone else.

This is not a claim that he couldn't be guilty of this, but rather a suggestion that we let this play out until it's a lot more clear who's playing games here.

If O'Reilly did something inappropriate, he should pay the piper.

I saw Mackris w/attorney on Court TV news today.

Mackris is not good looking. Certainly not what one would consider "a babe."

That's a good point. I retract and adjust my statement accordingly.

...still focusing on what Kerry might do with his acceptance of the invitation to be on the show and what we might do with that (ridicule, of course).

Al Franken said they "got" Rush and that Sean Hannity would be next. They probably couldn't find anything on Sean, so they went after Bill. The left is out to get all people they perceive as voices of the right. Fox is perceived as a voice of the right and is constantly mocked by the left as a propaganda mill. This is a dirty trick of the left, just as absconding with Rush's medical records was.

The cat theory has long been that when a country loses its moral bearings, its respect for traditions, its community life, it then turns to the intellectually corrupt judiciary to decide every petty moral dispute.

CNN headline is typically incorrect (on purpose). I am no big fan of O'Reilly but in a time line it would read...
O'Reilly sues for extortion; Producer sues O'Reilly for sexual harassment

Right. Why would a mega-stud, male model type like O'Reilly need to go slumming?

Bill O'Really? will continue to sink in the polls if he continues to lose his conservative base. He needs to get back to the days of 2001-01-02. Otherwise, O'Really? will be replaced by Hannity & Colmes in the ratings war.

"Mackris' attorney said.."

LOL!!! Have you seen this guy? He looks and acts like he could have represented the Gambino family.

Where are the tapes? If there are tapes, why aren't they all over the airwaves?

I'll tell you why. Because Mackris is the aggressor here. She returned from CNN to FOXNEWS after learning how sexual harrassment suits are brought (her previous boss was fired for sexual harrassment).

One month after her return, she tries to extort $60 big ones out of FOXNEWS.

I'm sorry, but I can't believe ANYBODY is falling for this pile of manure.

Yeah, maybe she was enouraging him. It sounds plausible to me, and as likely as her story.

If O'Reilly did something inappropriate, he should pay the piper.

Why?

Why do we have such a law? Is the alleged inequality of status between master and servant so disproportionate that we should change centuries of experience in dealing with these matters and create a whole new body of "he said/she said" litigation to titilate the prurient among us and render every social and business interaction a minefield?

Should we have let the feminazis do this to us? To O'Reilly, because he is "inappropriate?" I think heis probably a pig and worse, but I do not want Brit Hume, or Tony Snow, or myself, or you to be the next victim in this Salem witch hunt.

Dare I say "McCarthyism?"

For the sake of argument, let's say that O'Reilly is a sexual predator. Do you really think that he could attract a real babe?

I suspect that the plaintiff has tapes, and she probably has the testimony of her "college friend" who apparently witnessed some of the charges - according to my reading of her complaint. IMHO, O'Reilly has a problem.

I agree. I am not a big Oreilly fan.

But the fact that this woman went back to work there.....gotta wonder if here atty told her..."we just get ya back in there.....and you start screaming"

If he screwed up..then he'll pay.

If he did not.....look for Soros behind this.

I suspect that the plaintiff has tapes

If she had tapes that say what she says, FOXNEWS would have settled and O'Reilly would be gone.

We also would likely have heard them by now.

The tapes will show Mackris to be the aggressor, and the initiator of the "phone sex."
