Poll shows Bunning lead at 51% to 40%

DU'ers are beginning to float the rumor that Bunning
has progressive dementia and will have to leave the race.
The DNC is throwing millions at Mongardio in an attempt to unseat Senator Bunning.
I say we let them believe they have a chance to win the race in Kentucky so that they can't spend as much in Oklahoma, Colorado, Florida, and North Carolina.
Nearly a tie. Hide the kids.

So what! It hasnt hurt Teddys Senate career.
I know this poll is not immediate, but I live on the KY border, and Bunning has been damaged by gaffes and bad press. The DSCC is spending money there now.
Also, a Hart-Garin poll shows Bunning's lead at only 43% to 37%, but I'm skeptical the gap has closed that much.
Not that I know of. He was dropping of campaign signs and such the other day, and gave a speech at the Republican rally in Campbellsville last Saturday. His debate with the good Dr. was taped for broadcast, because Bunning was doing it from Washington. He's getting around quite well, and he's staying quite busy.
Here's a telling sign regarding Kerry. We just had a festival, and Kerry's people had a booth handing out stickers and signs. Within a couple of blocks of that booth, about 10 people have Mongiardo signs in their yard, but only 2 of those same people also have Kerry signs.
I was told that the Taylor County area at least is still holding at about 61 percent Republican.
Seems like there is a whisper campaign out against him.
They are absolutely out of their mind if they think they can win this race. I hope they spend $20 million trying though.
Mongiardo is a very slick and sleazy individual (remember, he was the same arrogant jerk who technically held 2 Senate seats in different parts of the state -- at the SAME time !) and will do anything at his disposal to depose Jim Bunning.
Go #14. We still remember you in Detroit.
It started with the Mongiardo campaign, not DU.
Mongiardo's people have been following Bunning around with TV cameras everywhere he goes from the time he gets up in the morning, in an effort to agitate him and get it caught on camera for use to spin it as him being senile.
They also have operatives attacking Bunning in all the little local newspapers in the letter to the editor pages, many of them not being from people actually living in the area of circulation.
They are spreading rumors he has Alzheimers.
He said it was legal and was going to go forward with it for two years...but he ultimately decided it would be too much to handle (actually the Senate President said he would refuse to swear Mongiardo in that prompted him to cut it out).
Bush wins big here too. KY has almost always been a R state nationally. But now we are even going R in the gov and house/senate. And the dems and MSM here are kicking and screaming at eveything. They spent 50 years getting us in a big mess, and won't give the new repub govenor 5 months to clean it up. Don't worry about Bush or Bunning. Worry about Ohio or the senate race in Alaska. Nothing to fear here in KY.
Yes, I know.
I'm focusing on State House races myself.
I work in Frankfort. My sense is that Mongiardo really could pull this off. Then again, I'm seeing 3 or 4 Kerry signs/bumber stickers for every Bush in my travels around Frankfort-Louisville-Lexington, yet Bush is up double digits in the polls. Very strange.
This poll is old, before a huge barrage of negative press last week. I'm a bit worried about this one now myself.
