Just curious, if you registered to vote while a student in ohio, did you comply with the law and file (and Pay) income taxes in Ohio. Wonder if these nucklehead visiting student liberals in Ohio that are trying to impact a battleground state are going to pay their "FAIR SHARE" of taxes.
Yes. The appellate court could consider this on an emergency basis, if it chooses to. There's not too much time, though. It would definitely need to be heard next week.
Are they going to cross check to make sure the person doesn't vote multiple times---at their registered polling place and the other the one or five they appear at?! Do they have to produce a bill or something to show they ostensibly live in the new district?
I can see what the judge means by "vitality" of our democracy.

I worked full-time and yes, I paid city, county, state taxes, federal, et al. I don't know about the other knucklehead visiting student liberals in Ohio - most of the students at my college WERE from Ohio. I lived in Ohio for 2 years before starting college - stayed another five - then return to my home state.
Yeah, the provisional ballots are a pain in the butt for the resolution board who has to sort them out. To actually force this kind of thing really isn't that good for the Democrats, because you would quickly catch on to a pattern of illegal voting.
The worst case would be a Dem dominated county, at least here in Iowa the county in the majority has the majority on the resolution board. You would likely then be outvoted in a Dem county, meaning a court fight, which is expensive and the decsion comes long after the election.
And that is a crime in the making. Ohioans can vote without ID. Dems just might be Voting early and voting often. I think they've been doing that for years here. This year it is out of control.
Well then you were a bona fide resident. The Knuckleheads that I refer to are the ones in the local press that bragged of registering to vote in Ohio while at Ohio State University so they could make an impact on a close state as opposed to there home states that were "not contested." Fine, they can declare residency, but the law says that all residents must pay statutory income taxes in Ohio as a resident.
Ya know, they just have more energy than me - not to mention how dishonest it is. Where did you see this?
In my home state, you only have to be a "resident" for 30 days as far as voting privileges. Qualifying for financial aid as a resident, however was a year in Ohio and here as well. I don't remember how long I had to be in Ohio before qualifying as a "resident."
The taxes coming out of my check freaked out me the entire time I was there - and then there was this thing with school distric tax....I worked in one city's school district and lived in another city's SD where the tax rate was higher......

How does one determine whether to disallow a Democrat ballot or a Republican ballot when the system sanctifies the secret ballot?
Are the ballots marked in some way to enable them to be matched to the person who voted, and if so, what then about the principle of the secret ballot?

Where - anywhere in the U.S. - are we required to show ID in order to vote? "Voting early and voting often" cannot be accurate. I want you to tell me how it's done so I can do it.
spefically I remember one stating that they lived in Conneticut and that Conneticut was a sure thing for Kerry so they wanted to vote in Ohio where it would mean more. They probably haven't thought that they would be liable for taxes on more than just withheld wages in Ohio, but on wages in Conneticut and any interest or dividends they earn this year (in total).
