Fox Panel: Debate a 'Knock Out' for Bush Fox News Channel's debate panel ruled the last of three face-offs between John Kerry and President Bush a clear win for the president, with panelist Bill Kristol saying Kerry had been "knocked out." Panelist Fred Barnes concurred. "It was clearly President Bush's best debate. He seemed to marshall all the arguments that he wanted on all these domestic issues - many of which are traditional Democratic issues, including health care." Barnes said this was the first debate where Bush seemed "animated and strong" on the early questions. "In the others it's taken him sort of a half hour to get rolling." "If he had done as well in the first debate as he did tonight, he'd have a much bigger lead in this race," he added. Panelist Morton Kondracke agreed, saying, "I think Kerry was on the defensive a lot of the time so I think it was a much better performance by Bush."

"I think Bush knocked Kerry out tonight," he told Fox debate anchor Brit Hume. "He just slaughtered him. "I was keeping track of the twenty questions," Kristol said. "I don't have Kerry winning any question outright. I think maybe six or seven were tied. And I have Bush winning outright a majority of the questions."

The Dems think that's a wedge with the fundies.
Instead, bringing her up, gratuitously, makes Kerry look small and cheap.
Jim Angle on Fox said that when Kerry made the Cheney's daughter comment that the reporters in the spin room all gave an audible gasp. It was deemed over the line, even by that bunch.
(instinctively. I've no doubt they'll talk themselves out of it, but America heard)
These people are quickly being left behind....Maybe they can glob onto W's no child left behind position to make a come back...I do doubt it though...People are quickly becoming more and more sophisticated...far more than their leaders realize....I love it!
LOL! These lefties are more treansparent than Saran Wrap...
Terry McAuliffe on with Hannity was his usual shameless self. I wonder if he will finally get fired if Bush wins?
Mary Beth Cahill actually told Chris Wallace that Cheney's daughter is "fair game". Back at the roundtable Kristol was outraged "What does that mean?" and Brit pointed out that "fair game" is something you shoot at. Mort was incensed already over the comment and Cahill didn't help. (Roundtable was by themselves, Cahill and Wallace having concluded their interview.)
Welcome to Free Republic. Is the DU server down?
Sorry, Arizona debate was 6pm, NOT 7pm.
I had been making the point that the debate would be "earlier" for the participants for weeks.
You know I really like that saying, can I say it again?
BITCH SLAPPED!!!!
I guess they thought it might make the administration look hypocritical or insensitive on the issue. It backfired big time. However, Kerry followed up that insensitive, below the belt comment with one about a man leaving his wife after he discovered he was gay. That was so strange and bizarre, even for Kerry. He loses 5 points right there. Just for freaky weirdness.
It was despicable.
Let me fill the Senator and Cahill in on something. Christians may be against homosexual marriage, and they may believe homsexuality is wrong based on scripture, but the overwhelming majority of us have nothing but compassion for Cheney's daughter. To abuse her name on national TV for attempted political gain, well, proves the character of Senator Kerry is anything but admirable.
"McAuliffe got the crap beat out of him by Hannity tonight."
Yes, you could tell that Hannity was really getting to him when he said "Please don't touch me". I laughed my head off! McAuliffe is such a jerk.
That raises another issue for me. Has anyone noticed that the faces of the republican party seem so much more appealing than their democratic counterparts? I don't mean Bush and Kerry. I was watching CNN and Paul Begala and Ralph Reed were on. Reed is by far the more appealing personality. The head of the RNC is much more appealing than McAuliffe (who isn't?). Then we have James (the serpent) Carville on tv all the time. I just wonder if that will play into the election at all.
Terry McAwful is such a lightweight...He can spin his head off, but he cannot make what happened with his faux war hero tonight a victory... I love watching these fools beating the crap out of themselves with their spin...They may own the propaganda airwaves in America, but they cannot make the American people believe in their BS. We have become accustomed to the spin and know how to deal with it.
We listened, we watched, and when Kerry spoke, we said,
HUH!! WHAT DID HE SAY!!!!
I have to admit that I wish ill on mcawful every day... sometimes multiple times! ;-)
LLS
I'd like to volunteer to beat the crap out of McAwful.
I hope that is true.
