Bush Wins Decisive Victory on What Kerry Campaign Described as “Their Turf”
President Bush won a clear victory on substance, style and credibility in the final debate tonight - showing that he’s the candidate who “finishes strong.” The President spoke with clarity, conviction and compassion about the most important issues facing our country.
On issue after issue, he showed Americans that he shares their values and priorities. John Kerry looked defensive and dour. President Bush revealed the discrepancy between his campaign trail rhetoric and his record, while John Kerry inflated his record and distorted the President's.
On health care, education, job growth, taxes, fiscal discipline, Social Security and Homeland Security, President Bush succeeded in drawing sharp contrasts between his philosophy for a federal government that helps people improve their own lives and John Kerry’s 19 year record of supporting bigger government, higher taxes and a stronger hand for the government in controlling people’s lives.
President Bush revealed just how far out of the mainstream Kerry’s record lies on abortion, gay marriage, immigration, taxes, health care and fiscal discipline, and John
Kerry showed how far he’s willing to go to deceive the American people about this record when he said “I’ve actually passed 56 individual bills that I’ve personally
written.” The fact is that he has only been the lead sponsor of 5 bills and 4 resolutions that have became law.
The most revealing moments:
· Kerry believes education is unrelated to the economy - this is a fundamental misunderstanding of how individuals achieve the American Dream.
· President Bush believes that no child should be left behind when it comes to the quality of education she or he can get.
· A good education is the foundation for opportunity, prosperity and success.
· On immigration, John Kerry said, "we need an earned legalization program for people who have been here a long time." This amnesty proposal stands in contrast to
the President's temporary worker program.
President Bush revealed John Kerry's tendency to confuse a litany of complaints with a plan. John Kerry demonstrated that he didn't have a plan and he resorted to foreign policy attacks, because he does not have an agenda for America.
President Bush revealed John Kerry’s hypocrisy on Social Security by calling out his votes for higher taxes on Social security.
President Bush made the case for economic policies that put money in the pocket of hardworking Americans - John Kerry made a half hearted effort to defend his tax hike on America’s small business owners.
Here here - I think we have another super star!
And then he brings up his mother...
I was literally cringing in my seat while Kerry gave his response. Talk about the worst possible answer to that question, ESPECIALLY in light of how genuine and charming Bush's was.
I hope everyone joins me in the following sentiment.

The last question connected with real humans, real Americans...Bush knocked it out of the park...thats what they will remember...
Bush just grabbed a substantial portion of the 'ladies' vote...
Kerry also made the mistake that Bush made in the first debate... repeating meaningless and tired platitudes we've all heard too many times now.
Bush on the other hand didn't make any such statements this time but landed many more substantive and fresh answers.

This is all the President needs to do. Talk to the voters. Kerry is always pointing and talking AT us. Just be the Dubya we met in 2000.
I mean if you were a complete idiot and knew nothing about Kerry he looked convincing in the last 30 min, except when Bush ripped him on the Gulf War 1. Hopefully he did that throughout the debate.

If someone is still undecided, it probably comes down to likability and trust. After all, the first two debates clearly set the candidates apart on issues.
On two key questions, Bush destroyed Kerry on likability. When Bush discussed his religion he seemed comfortable, tolerant and pricipled while Kerry's body language resembled a raisin. Kerry shiveled and hunched over when asked to discuss his faith.
On the subject of wives, Kerry actually dodged the question! Without a romantic anecdote to share about his wife he chose to talk about his mother. I love my Mom, and I'm sure GWB loves his too. But when asked about his wife the only thing that John alluded too... was her money. Ewwwwww!
Bush was sunny and optimistic while Kerry looked pale. Kerry served up doom and gloom, while Bush spoke of the almighty's gift of freedom.
Ultimately, this debate was all about firing up the base to show up and vote. The Bush blast on TV networks was priceless, the discussion of his faith was beautiful and his delivery solidly painted John Kerry as a liberal. The simple fact is that most undecideds are watching baseball right now.
With that being said, Republicans have a lot to be happy about. A narrow Bush win, where Kerry's speech and body language actually resembled Bush in the first debate.
Given the POS Schieefer was doing his best impression of Monica for Jf'nK.\, the President came into a hostile house and held his own.
Kerry could not land any punches. The weakest areas for the President, let's hope us NRA Freepers have his back!!!! NRA come on and lay the lumber
I was a little disappointed GWB didn't make some points better than I had hoped but he seemed to do well overall. TV talking heads seem to think Kerry spewed out too many statistics or lectured too much.
I think this gives Mr Bush some momentum. Even a nay sayer like Bill Kristol says he won big.
