I bet all of those absentee ballots will be the basis of a huge lawsuit if JFK loses Pennsylvania.

Colins noted hat the names on the petitions included Mickey Mouse, Fred Flintstone and John Kerry. Ouch.

Just got a little tougher for W. to win PA - which I never thought he would anyway Do you really think that the people that are going to vote for Ralph Nader won't vote for him because he is not on the ballot?
This is all a stall tactic by the Dims to delay sending out absentee ballots. So they can disenfranchise our military vote!

OK. From the precedent creted here for a strict standard to verify the validity of signatures, the same standard should apply to verify the identity of newly registered voters, including my daughter. She will have no problem showing a driver's license or other ID. Can the same be said of the multiple voters in Philly?

Having just voted-early today (in another state), I was
wondering if PA might have this issue.
It doesn't seem like much of a problem though. It's little
different from a late-resignation candidate. The vote is
not counted for that office (as much as the Dems might
like to argue that Nader votes are Kerry votes).
I noticed on our ballots that neither the Socialists
nor the Communists (by name) had Presidential candidates
this year. Kerry fits their requirements. Little wonder
that they've endorsed him.

"The court said it had reviewed 51,273 petition signatures submitted by Nader campaign workers and found only 18,818 were valid -- far short of the 25,697 valid names he needed to run for president in Pennsylvania." Why aren't states just as scrutinizing, when dealing with registration and voting, eh?

What's the deal with Naderites? Grassroots rot? Or is it: 'The Lefter You Go, the Cheater You Get.'?

If only they reviewed voter registrations so thoroughly!

Why has the Nader campaign been so lame at this issue? It's lost a lot of state ballot slots. If I were Nader, I'd be livid.

Nader's hardcore supporters will just go ahead and write him in. In the 2000 race, the polls showed him with maybe 5 per cent of the vote, but he only got 1 or 2 per cent on election day. George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent

This election is shaping up to be a bigger legal fiasco than we had in '00.
Does any one besides me find it interesting that the democrats wait until just before the elections to challenge this?
It seems that they are doing this to begin the "let every vote count" mantra all over again.
Fasten your seat belts.
There will be numerous lawsuits. Edwards is not on this ticket for nothing.

In fairness, I have to admit, I'd have trouble letting someone on the ballot who had 'Fred Flinstone' and 'Mickey Mouse' signing for him.

Yea, too many Specter supporters are for the husband of the widow of the former Specter colleague, John Heinz, I presume.
